While I don't think I'd be particularly bothered by Revolution, I agree with Nintendo that Wii is a better name. (If not for the cool nodding i's)

Sounding the Revolution sounds like a better name and would appeal more mature gamers and would sound like something that would appeal to the 18 to 35 market (mind you that is the main market that people try to aim there products to) than Wii would. Though something you should know when your dealing with sales, not always the better sounding name is the better name. Even if you name is uber easy to make fun of it and the fact that it does sound kiddish, if you can get more and more people to talk about it and use it there for you get your name spreed much faster. Nintendo had so much free press via fans making fun of the name, but even though they where making fun of it they still was passing on the fact that Nintendo's newest system was Wii. Also since they named it Wii instead of We, which gave it a unique spelling, helps to make it even more rememberable, and the better people remember the more likely they would be to buy your game.

It would of been cool if the wii was a cirucular spherical water humidifier shape, but it's not so therefore wii ftw. It's original and adds the Japanese trade mark lol.

Wii is the better fit at this time since its focus on togetherness with others is prevalent what with Miis and its channels, Wii Sports of course, and the Everybody Votes Channel that brings people a bit closer to each other. Wii is also more original than Revolution.

to tell everyone the truth; wii is its name but if u look at all of the components that come with it they have a code on them (somewhere) such as the console itself has RVL-001 and the Wiimote has RVL-003 so its name is Wii but its codename is Revolution. kinda like DS has NTR-001 as in Nitro.

I didn't like the name wii at first, but now I realize that the name revolution would have been unoriginal and lame. The wii itself is something completely different and new so a name that is also a bit unusual is befitting.
