I have read numerous articles on this and I say yes, video games help with logic and problem solving as they usually have some from of puzzle that needs to be solved, they help with math skills for younger player, in games where you need to buy items and deal with money, they help with hand eye co-ordination, having to time you button pressing with what is happening on-screen, some games help with your communication skills with others, games like the sims where you constantly interact with people and have to try to get them to like you. Obsessive gaming can be bad for you but well balanced it can help you with many skills.

I think it depends how you look at it. Games will rot your brain, but only if you play them excessively. Also, games can also be for family fun.....sort of.

No, gaming isn't good for you. Glasses much?

I've been playing since i was about 7, everything from Gameboys to Wii. Although i play in moderation, there have been times where i have been completely addicted which impacted on my social life. But now since i'm over all that, i have not yet had eye / back / neck / anger problems, i find playing very benifical :-D

Ok...But imagine the little kids. They don't know when to stop. Their eyes will be glued to the screen. Then what, they get their brained Rotted when they are young!

Gaming can actually help with your hand eye coordination. Which is why most gamers are REALLY good at badminton.

It's be proven through research the playing games for x hours a day actually helps your eyesight. The test has shown that gamers can pick up small details in things quicker then non-gamers. Also there is the hand eye coordination that come with all those hours.

you know whats weird? i had a eyesight of -2.5 (-250) and yea it requires me to wear glasses/contacts. but after 2 years some how my eyesight got BETTER! i'm now -2.0 (-200). was it from playing less games? it might've been since when i got into college i toned it down a bit. but its hard to find any solid evidence on games being detrimental to your eyes.games are good for the improvement of hand eye coordination, and hand dexterity

Gaming makes us happy. Its the only way other than dreaming for us to ... easily do impossible tasks ... or become something we'd love to do. Also the hand eye coordination lol.

Its a little bit of both. We can learn some diction / new words as well as have a fast reaction time whenever an emergency arises. Other than that I dont find much usage other than being pro and winning money for playing games.

Games are good but I think the consequences(spell?) is better than how it helps. It could mess u up for the rest of ur life. Like messing up your eyes, seizures, and other stuff.
