Yes most video games today are violent. The more bloody and gorey the more entertaining it is. The fact that all of the games are scientifically unrealistic does take away from some of the violence factor.For the record, all I play now are shooters on the 360 and some less known RPGS on older systems.

its all on how mature the person is. anyone will wanna be a video game character because of how cool they may look but games like GTA, u just dont wanna be like that u know? im all for violent games but thats because im mature enough to handle it.

Some video games are too violent in the sense they have too much violence for no reason other than to be violent. I'm all for violence in video games, as long as it has a reason and isn't being done just to cover for the fact that the game in question isn't any good.

they are violent, but the games should be for relaxation only, u shouldnt get carried away with the game and start shooting people in real life

I don't think they're too violent at all. It's just the same as the movies we see and the news we watch. The only difference is that when it happens in games and movies, it's not for real.

Depends on the game.. Some are, some aren't.. that's why there are ratings for games. ^^I don't think they're too violent at all. It's just the same as the movies we see and the news we watch. The only difference is that when it happens in games and movies, it's not for real.

QFT. I completely agree and am very happy that the ratings are being enforced a bit better, although some people are still being careless about them.Sadly, its extremely likely that most people will watch/play/have watched/played 18+ games or movies before they're 18, but so too is it likely they'll drink or smoke before they're meant to do that. So...eh.Depends on the game.. Some are, some aren't.. that's why there are ratings for games. ^^

I say hell yea they are... but u gotto be smart when playing them... every now and then i like to pull drive bys stab and sometimes i like to saw bodies in half in gears of wars...those are rated m for a reason..but people have to have that certain brain trigger to actully pull that stuuf off in real lifetired of these questions

Sure games are very violent nowadays but look what we have on prime time television. Shows like 24 where a guy walks around shooting and breaking terrorists necks. When you think about it not many games are considered too violent.
