Well, back in the day, some video games were violent, but they just didnt have the graphics, all you could do was laugh at them.

Games are MUCH more violent than they were 10 years ago, the blood and gore in games is more graphic than with say sega genesis games. Oh well, they're fun

Games are a reflection of the times no doubt... We live in a post 9/11 world, where the media tries to explain and show everything on the news. Nothing seems to shock us anymore, thus violent video games shouldnt be anything new. Matter of fact we pretty much push the envelope of violence to the max with games like Manhunt and such. A game can only be so violent before it gets pointless, like for example when a comedian uses the F-word just for the sake of using it and hoping that people will think it is funny. If game developers just put a ton of violence in the game cuz they think itll sell, they are sadly mistaken. It just so happens that some of the most violent games also have great playability. Tough luck Congress.

do not really i meen the resident evil ones n that r but mojority is fine

This really makes me angry parents blame the games the scientist know it alls blame the companies that make the games, but no one blames the parents before you let your 10 your old play a game like say GTA: San Andreas (which contains A+ material) rent the game play it and if you think the content is to mature for your child to comprehend or understand that you don't reinact the game stuff in real life or do that stuff. Then dont buy it for them. Like for god sakes these are the same parents that would let there kids watch the Chucky movies when there only 5 years old and Ill let you know that it is not good to do that. So no I say games are not too violent, we dont need to tone them down its more of the thing of Parents get the hell up and raise your children properly get involved in there activities if you see them playing a game way out of there age group like a 5 year old playing Resident Evil 4, take the game away from them and tell them no your too young for that, not until your older like geez you blame everyone except for yourselfs which your are the main problem the parents are the main problem to this whole, games are too violent, lets make every game a carebear game, *shudders* (I'd rather eat rat poison then play one of those games ughhh....) but Like you dont let small tots play games ment for ppl 17+ if you do its your own fault if there screwed up cause you could have taken that game away from them so one answer. Play it first before you buy it for your kids.

As long as the violence is staying in the game then I guess it's alright. Sometimes it's good to have games like that.. when some of my friends get angry instead of blowing up on people around them that don't deserve it, they go on a shooting rampage in (insert game here, like Halo or something). And I guess it makes them feel better. =P
