The only games that are too violent today are those released by Rockstar games, such as the GTA series. I guess I just don't understand the appeal...

Yes. Well, it may be good for some of us ( me included :o ) but how will it affect everybody else? "How much is too much?"... Wow. I actually surprised myself with that. Well, you get my point.

Violence sells, so if you ask any marketer they will tell you "No, theyre not."Too much violence or not is a matter of personal opinion.

No games aren't too violent, people just need something to blame for gangs and crimes.

I don't think games are too violent. Besides that, games have ratings for a reason. If someone buys a "Mature" rated game, they should expect content that could be offensive. If parents think the games their kids are playing are too violent, they shouldn't buy them for them. What I'm trying to say here is, if a game is violent, you're fully warned before you play it.

As said many times before, games have age ratings for a reason.Although personally I'm not in to gratious violence. I don't mind it, but I don't actively search for it either.

That would really depend. I mean, would you mean by gunning/or by blood and gore, or by cannibalness or carnage? By gunning, heck yeah. Blood and gore i wouldn't really say... maybe. Cannibalness is a weak maybe. Carnage is a yes.But nothing is perfectly violent. If we saw something that was, then we would instantly DIE!oh! and violence can calm you down after being ticked to, uh, China from the U.S. or something... I am horrible with that stuff ain't i?

todays games are violent on only some systems. Most of the games that are presented by Nintendo are family games that have, if any, playful violence.

It's not really the amount of violence (I think there hasn't been that big of an increase in that) as it is the amount of detail and realism. Before, when you shot a guy the most you could get as a reaction was a moan and some red stains on his shirt. Now, blood splutters everywhere. That fact alone makes it seem more violent, when the action is the same: shooting some guy.
