I had a classic grey DS from when they first came about and someone hit it with a basketball at school. =\ Top half broke right off.

all three of mine have had something happened to them, one fell in a rain puddle (still works!) another mysteriously ended up with a huge slash across the bottom screen (still works!) and the final one my dad used for anger management and broke it in half...i just keep that one for memories...

I dropped mine down on the stairs on the second floor.Worst thing was that it bounced a few times off the steps, and then fell through one of the things and landed on the ground.The L button came off, but I managed to shove it back into the DS, but it still doesn't work. D:

i had my ds for like 3 years, it got all wobbly cuz part of the hinge fell of(not the hole hinge, the classical breakage of the ds lite). and i was playing animal crossing and i had a green lite( but it turned off. it never turned o again

My 5 year old cousin playing it for 2 hours 
, no im not that tight, i let everyone play it, my ds but hes disgusting, sucks his fingers and touches the screen, spent 1 whole hour cleaning it afterwards. I dont mind people playing it as i've lent it to a friend for a month before because he doesnt suck his fingers and touch the screen.

my first ds lite developed a crack at the hinge, it eventually broke apart but after gluing it back in place it still works. Luckily, I won a second DS lite on one of those reaction time games in a pub

I dropped it, too, and broke the hinge. Now the top part flops down if I hold it upright....very annoying. Would love to get it fixed instead of replacing it.

Dropped it a few times... but the worst thing was... that the touch screen was all scatched up by playing zelda game.

I hate how the Ds lite has shiny plastic, so whenever i touch it, it leaves a gross fingerprint. then it takes forever to get it off because you end up smearing it.

I've gotten some water on it a couple of times. Near gave me a heart attack every single time, luckily it still works like a charm. I'm not sure how it is with the newer versions, but the original NDS is quite sturdy, props to nintendo for that!
