AMEN man. FF8 was/is my favorite of the series. I don't really understand why people hate it as much as they do.Another game you don't hear alot about is Disgaea Hour of Darkness, I'll admit when it came out I bought it and dabbled with it didn't like it and took it back a few days later. I picked it up again about 18 months ago and played it and nothing but it for about 2 months straight.I think Final Fantasy 8... one of the best in the series and it's barely ever talked about

Yeah, that was a fun little ditty right there. It was kinda short and straightforward, but definitely a welcome change to standard RPGs. Not too many people ever mention this game and I have no idea why. Sure, the characters have a few corny lines here and there, but aside from the gameplay (yeah, fetch quests get old fast), the story was actually somewhat entertaining, which is becoming a growing rarity in RPGs (well, gaming in general) these days.Sigma Star Saga for GBA. Uniquely innovative for an RPG (every random encounter is a miniature Gradius level), nice graphics, a mostly English development team, and some good and occasionally funny writing with a plot that isn't just "aliens, lol". While plagued with fetch quests and some odd level design, it's definately worth playing at least once. I just finished playing it last night in lieu of homework, so I'm quite adamant about this one.
I don't think you could really call LoD "underrated" though, as alot of people (including critics) have said how much they enjoyed it. It's a fairly well-known game, though you're correct in saying that FF overshadowed it.But honestly, I really wasn't into it. It seemed pretty short for a four-disc game, and the story could barely keep me awake, save for a few moments here and there. I couldn't even get up the ambition to beat it, though I was very vlose to the end. But meh, alot of people liked it, so Sony must've done something right on that one, I don't see what, however.Alright, Ill go out and say Legend of Dragoon. It fell under the RPG juggernaut of FF but I still find it more fun then any other PS1 RPG.
