Roy PAWNS anyone if u noe when to use his pro 
techniques n when to use his huge power smash attacks lol. So yea it basically depends on hitting at the rite time n with wat attack.

Well I wouldn't say that. Hes Nintendo's best but hes not the best swordsman ever.do you or any other members think that link would be the highest ranking swordsman on the polls

I think Link is just more seasoned of a swordsman than Marth or Roy, etc. He has much more of a legacy and has had to stand up against greater foes. He's stronger and he's an elf. So, you know, he's probably a lot older than other swordsmen.

I think Link is the best Nintendo swordsman. In second, it would be a tie between Marth and Roy.

I really like Link for his versitality (arrows bombs, and a kick-butt sword)but I have to say Marth.....I kinda whish he had cooler armor though...Still a free for all between the threee (including roy) would be somthing to see.

Its just my opinion but based solely on SSBM i will have to say Roy because of his speed (8/10) and power (an easy 10/10)98%of the teenage population will try, does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this into your signature

Even though I play with Roy and Marth, I can compare that Marth is quite the better swordsman. It seems that although Roy has a good offense, his delay with attacks is quite long. Marth his agile with a good offense if you can hit them right at the tip of your sword. So if you know how to use both these swordsman, you can see how these 2 compare against each other.

I personally like Roy. If you get in close and start attacking, he can do some real damage while keeping your opponent unbalanced. A good balance in my opinion.

If you guys are going to base your opinion on Smash, vote for Marth. He is, without a doubt, the best of the three within the game. He's very quick and very strong. The idea behind Roy was to make him a stronger, slower version of Marth, but that didn't work out because Marth is still the stronger of the two when you compare hits that were connected at the sweetspots. Link is not very fast. As Link, you can try to pressure with your boomerang, arrows, and bombs, but a good Marth will be able to weave through your projectiles because he's much more maneuverable than Link. Once Marth's close enough (which isn't very far, due to his sword), Link is going to have a lot of trouble.
