I prefer a long game like a RPG for a good and epic Storyline ( Mario and Luigi:Superstar saga and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door)

It depends on the game.I mean, I don't want a shooter to go on forever. But a game like Mass Effect..I don't want it to ever end.

I like my RTS games to play long, arcade games short for a quick blast, and my shooting games to be predictably awesome at all times, thanks goodness for left 4 dead!

I love long games, especially when most of the hours are spent in gameplay (GTA) and not in overlong cutscenes (sorry Metal Gear Solid, you don't count). Developers have to be pretty skilled to hold a gamer's attention for 40 hours or so, which is probably why most non-RPG current-gen games is 10 hours on average. It sucks how all of today's games are short. Even 20 hours would satisfy me; that's the ideal length

Longer games are better, or I don't feel ive got my money's worth out of them. Which is why mirror's edge was kinda disappointing

I personally like both, long if the game isn't a big loop, like, battle, take item, battle, take item, etc....Short games also have the advantage of normally taking out the budget to keep a game running for such a long time, when they have that extra budget to make it more interactive.

meh. depends on the game. i like longer, entertaining rpgs, but i like shorter action/shooter games. i like the shorter action games because they help keep my mind off that boss or whatever in the rpg that i can't beat. plus when i beat them i feel happy. =3

Long games; but when I say long I'm talking about the storyline (single player mode) and not "replay this game 10 times in order to get the shiny achievement" or extra missions. Sometimes it isn't fun to replay a game when you know what will happen or how the levels are. Now in fighting games things can change.

Obviously longer games.. There is absolutely no reason I'd want a shorter game.
