My DS is completely broken apart but I had it for 2 years. My brother's DS (and his other 2 DS) are broken and he only had it for several months.

My DS is alright on the outside, but the touch screen has full of marks... I don't remember where it came from. There was once I lost my stylus and used a normal pen instead and maybe it was because of the pen's sharp tip. At first it was very rough, but now it is smoother, because I rapidly rubbed the stylus on the touch screen.

My ds has screen protectors, the one on the touch screen is really scratched up and I should replace it soon. Other than that it looks pretty much like new. On the outside, there's always smudges from my fingers but they wipe off easy.

mine also have a few scratches but I have a cover protector that I brought for 10 and then I also put on screen protector so I don't scratch my screen.

Dropped it once, skewing the R button's angle and chipping that side a bit; pressed the touchscreen too hard playing starfox in multiplayer, so it has a blind spot towards the top right, and somehow the L button is less responsive and not the R(dunno why)...Lastly, my A button's probably overworked, because it doesn't stay straight when left alone and doesn't have that click like the other ones.

I don't take disgusting care of my DS, but it is a little banged up on the edges. If I could go back in time, I probably would have gotten screen protectors and a cover case to keep it all nice and pretty. Also, the left shoulder button is more difficult to use since I over used it playing Taiko Drum master. I want to fix that so badly. T_TIs something like that possible?

Lol, I have 4 lites.XDWhite: Top screen snapped off. 'nuff said.Black: It's very dirty and stiff, but otherwise is good for an old lite.Navy: This one had an accident where it was in a bag with a leaky bottle of pressed apple juice, where it got entirely submerged... works fine other than some multicoloured noise on the bottom screen at startup, just before the DS logo appears.Ice blue: This one's doing quite nicely, other than for a few dirty corners and a loose top screen. Shoulder buttons and B button are a bit whacked up from MKDS, Metroid and Pokéradar chaining.

lol i dropped my DS in a driveway, so one half of it is scratched to hell, whereas the other side is as good as new. i think everyones screen gets scratched at some point, simply because theres always one game thats gets on everyones nerves...

All 5 current DS's of ours are in good shape. The kids all have the nerf foam protectors, and those are a bit banged up. My first DS was damaged beyond repair when I was putting a new cover on. I didn't want two to be the same color so I bought a kit on ebay. I was soooo close to getting it all together just fine. My Daughter, who's 8, decided to "wash" some dirt off in the sink and fried one, it was almost new.

the right side of the touch screen doesn't respond anymore and it has about 5 dead pixels but it's still playable and that's all that matters anyway
