I managed to tear the top screen off my first one. The second one had a run-in with some jelly... Maybe my new one will survive to old age? (Not likely).

Well, I still own my original DS Phat... and it would look almost brand new had I not attempted to erase some permanent marker damage (My spur-of-the-moment artistic modding/scribbles)causing some paint to come off. Since then, I've repainted my DS several times with various patterns... but I still love it.

I'm lucky I have a crystal case other wise my ds would be crushed by now. All I can say is this, my ds is indestructible.

Well, I thought I had been taking care of my DSlite pretty well. It's a bit dirty, but nothing was majorly wrong with it. That was until yesterday though, when I noticed that the top screen seemed a bit more wobbly than usual. The right side of the hinge is cracked ;_; I managed to fix it with superglue for now, but I'm doubtful that it'll hold up as a permenant solution. I'll just keep dousing it with superglue until the screen breaks all the way. If I'm lucky, they'll have flashcards for the 3DS by then, and I'll just invest in one of those.Edit: Glue already cracked away, it's been 2 days. I managed to get more glue down the cracks this time. Next time I'll try duct tape.

My DSlite is in pretty good shape. Lots of gunk down in some of the cracks. My first DSlite had an issue with the L button but I was able to send it back to Nintendo and they replaced it.

My original DS from it's initial launch is fairly scratched up on the outside, but my way of taking care of the screens, especially the touch screen, was to focus on buying games that didn't involve many fast paced touch games like Guitar Hero DS for example.I have a DS Lite (Red) now because it is easily the most amazing looking handheld device I've ever owned and therefore I've been nice to it and have avoided any scratches to it's surfaces inside and out. ^.^

My Lite looks almost new still and I've had it for about.. 2 years, I think? Something like that. Either way, it never really saw too much action. Animal Crossing every now and then followed by Megaman ZX. The REAL challenge for it came when I got Phantom Hourglass.. and then Spirit Tracks soon afterwards. If that thing could've cried, I think it would have the moment I started using the stylus all the time and got frustrated enough I'd tap the screen of it pretty rough when I got frustrated with Link. (As if hitting him would really teach him not to roll when next to a pit...)

My friend has an original ds that he decided to set ablaze, which he proceeded to do, and now the whole system resembles so much charred meat and smells something awful, but surprisingly enough, it still works extremly well, just the other day he played al the way through castlevania on the same system. As much as I dislike Nintendo, You have to admit they create a sturdy handheld.

I am super-careful when it comes to handling my DS lite. After 2 years it's basically as good as new. Hooray for me.

They're still in tip top condition, though the L and R buttons are getting slightly difficult to press on one of them.

I got a DS Lite last fall and I treated it very well. Unfortunately, part of the hinge cracked and broke off and although it still functions fine, the top screen doesn't click into place anymore, which is annoying, because I have to hold the top screen up. I'm pretty sure it's a defect but I think my warranty has run out. I guess I could always call up Nintendo. =(

I've had my DS for something like six years, and it's in pretty awesome shape. The screen's a bit scratched up from playing Ouendan (those goddamn spinners, man), but other than that, everything's great. I've dropped it at least a couple of times, too, and it survived the falls flawlessly. Man, that console is awesome.

"How damaged is your DS?"Pretty damaged, due to neglect for the first year or so I had it. I literally just left it lying around. Since I traveled a lot, it was baking in my car a lot too. It's only been these last few years that I really started taking care of it; polishing it up and even buying one of those fancy DS cases for it.

It's not that bad, even though I bought it used. It has a few scratches, is missing a stylus, and the a and b buttons are sorta worn out, but that's all.
