Being a person who trawls the internet constantly for new music, I tend to come across plenty of stuff that most people I know would shy way away from. Beyond just the normal indie recommendations (like whatever Pitchfork or Metacritic is praising, like the latest Twilight Sad or Battles), there's a whole world of really underground music- much of it local, much of it just poorly promoted. Of course, everyone has his or her own taste, but some of us are used to having our sense of taste ignored. So, dgemu, do you have any such musicians or bands that you love that you know no one listens to? If so, post them and tell us a little something. Ray Lyell and the storm is a good band I listen to that deserves more recognition. His a really good songwriter.Also a very guilty pleasure of mine is Whitesnake ........ right to the top baby!
Skas a deadly style but I like reggae betterSka. No one likes ska anymore. Especially none of my friends.

Any kind of Rap Music. I'm still a fan of the ol' Rap, but all my friends listen to rock. So, I keep my Rap liking on the d' low. Haha

i normally just listen to the songs that come out of the radio so maybe im like one of those friends that usually dont hear many new songs that u do all the time and i only know a few artistes

I don't think any of my friends like Gang Gang Dance. Recently I've been playing a lot more music for friends, but I don't think any of them would like GGD anyway. One of them pretends to like Raccoo-oo-oon...My friends don't really like most of the music I listen to.

Well i guess you have to be open minded to fully enjoy Naked city (mostly of my friends are metal heads, and well they hate that band) they play a nice variaety of music, from Ambient to Grindcore (in just one albumn 
), but they mostly play some sort of noisy jazz fusion
