im using vista, but XP would be my choice. i cant switch back to xp because i lost the security code for it. and im just to lazy to do anything about it. vista works well for doing nothing on the computer. if you are a advant user of your computer id go with XP.

I've had no problems with Vista when working, but I'd feel more confident using XP for gaming.

Vista sucks. It's only better in visuals, but there are so many games and apps that aren't working so it will take a long time to get standard (if even)

I would say Vista is better if u have a pc that can support it because of its cool interface. But for ppl with a regular pc XP would be the best. I prefer Vista over XP

No XP ftw, Vista has bugs and u can't use old programs, automatically wasting money since you will have to purchase more software for Vista

I'm using XP, and still using it. I did try installing vista but got to annoying since it always ask whenever I use it like when I was copying data from my external drive, It ask to have permission from administrator..damn, what am I? I didn't even set a guess account for it and it treated me like I didn't own it. After a week or so I switch back to XP.

I recently built a new computer and I put vista on it and i haven't seen what people find so horrible about it. You can turn off the security features with a little registry know how and then you're left with a nice looking OS with good features like the active indexing

If you look all the way back to 2001 when XP came out, you'll notice that it had the exact same problems. Then a few years later SP2 came out. It worked at that point. Now Vista is coming out with SP1 we will see if some if not all problems are resolved. And with networking, Vista kicks XPs trash all over the place. >=(

XP is way better than vista, as vista is still pretty new, unstable, and over all just suxbut if linux could game the way XP does, then Linux would own allgrrr...people need to make their games linux compatable

You actually can't expect an operating system to be totally perfect and stable within a year after its release. XP has been around and been used for almost 5 years before vista was released. Unfortunately, I too was hoping Vista would simply just continue on where XP left off but that wasn't the case at all. However, vista seems a lot better than it was initially but still, XP is the primary competitor and if it weren't for the vista-only directX 10 support, I'd still be on XP so it gets my vote (though I'm very borderline on this because XP 64-bit edition was horribly buggy and unstable especially compared to Vista 64-bit edition which has never crashed on me for no reason.

Vista actually takes up an entire 1gb of ram no matter what, so yeah i like xp better

that is not possible. i have run vista on a laptop with 512mb or ram. in any case, i use windows vista on my laptop, but xp pro on one of my desktops, vista on another, and windows me with my modified ram manager on the last. personally i like the speed of my system that runs me best. and then this laptop that runs vista. yet i voted for xp. and other, meaning windows me(with some alterations of course) thats my experience.-CA

xp is better only because it has been out in the market long enough for them to fix most of the "issues"

i would rather use XP becaause it more stable and Vista requirements too much and my computer can't handle itbesides it keep better but keep on increasing using more spaceI like Lunix or OpenSuse cause it has more program than XP or Vista and takes up less space... and OpenSuse has features (almost) like vista aero and has software allowing you write more languages than XP without buy the software to write it

I like xp better, it doesn't have to be as powerful as vista and i don't care very much of how my computer looks when i'm gaming.
