Well yes, it has made the GBA popular. When Pokemon Ruby® and Pokemon Sapphire® came out, millions bought the GBA just for that game!

Pokemon made gamboy what it is today. Maybe even saved the handheld from being discontinued.BUT PSP blows it away.ALSO Sega was waaaay ahead with game gear, should have stuck to handhelds and they'd be doing fine.definatly not, it is games more liek final fantasy, and kingdom hearts i say

A lot of people bought a gameboy/NDS only for Pokemon. So yeah Pokemon really helped for that.

No this is not true, pokemon is in the top 3, if not the number one most famous game of all time. Maybe not the best, but defidantly most famous.

Personally, I had by first Gameboy before Pokemon came out, later I got a gameboy color and pokemon. I never liked gameboy before games like pokemon though!

zelda, pokemon, metroid, and mario all had their impact on the original gameboy bt pokemon i'd say had the largest impact in the end

I'd have to say yes. Before pokemon, I had absolutely no interest in GameBoy. I bought it expressly for Pokemon.

Yes your right because if theres not gamers that will be interested in it it will not be a game for gamers to put it in the GBA.isnt pokemon part of gb bcause nintendo made emof cousre gb wud hve been tht famous with out tht pokemon series

FF and Kingdom Hearts were never on the gameboy (with the except of remakes of some FF games on the GBA)Either way, gameboy was popular loooong before Square every thought of putting FF/KH onto Handheld. Hell, famous before even KH was thought updefinatly not, it is games more liek final fantasy, and kingdom hearts i say

The GB didn't have much REAL competitionat the time, Game Gear was out of the picture before pokemon came out IIRC. It was the difference between playing a handheld and not playing any handheld. Pokemon made handheld gaming big and gave nintendo the platform to launch the GBC, GBA, DS and tons of games. I don't think Sony would have made the PSP if pokemon didn't build up the handheld gaming market the way it did.
