Game Boy was released BEFORE Pokémon was even conjured up. The release of Pokémon only enhanced the Game Boy's reputation and Nintendo's popularity. Besides, there are many other games that make owning any one handheld in the Nintendo family worth while.

Hell no! Pokemon did launch GB sales, but it by no means was the bread winner of the GB. The GB was big, and would still be big whether or not Pokemon was created.

No. It helped GB become famous, but the gameboys popularity was mainly 3rd-parties coming in and making good games for it.

To be quite honest, I think being able to carry Mario and Tetris around on travels made Gameboy famous.

i'd rather see pokemon come onto the ps3 system rather than the child-like graphics found on the nintendo consoles

Qft. That was the only reason why I played my Gameboy Colour, because of Pokemon. In fact, if I was to get any handheld system now, it would have to be GBA, just for Pokemon Ruby/Saphire/Emerald. XD

If You Didn't Have Pokemon When Gameboys Were Out.Something Was Wrong.I Had A feeling That Gameboy Colors Came Out Because Of The Colors Of Pokemon Games.I Said HAD I Don't Feel That Way Anymore.Pokemon Made Gameboy's Way More Popular, With Their Animal Cruelty Ways.

I think that Pokemon games did help make Gameboys more popular.I'm not sure, but I would rather play Pokemon RPGs (yes, I'll be an RPG Maniac) than battling.

There are two levers for moving men, interest and fear.
Men are more easily governed through their vices than their virtues.

Yes. For the Gameboys it was the top selling game for each gameboy system but the first one. Due to tetris coming with it
