ff9 was a really good game, but it didnt stand out as much. zidane was a crappy leader because he had a friggin tail. who wants to follow a monkey around? id much rather have garnet/dagger as the lead.
Is FF9 the least popular in the FF series??

FF9 is my second favourite in the series. For me X is the best FF.

I think that Final Fantasy 9 was just as much a hit has 7 and 8 for the PS. But I do think that it is the least popular umong the 3, only becaseu it was released so close to the launch of PS2.

Finally, someone agrees with me.Honestly I can't stand 8. The junction system was the worst idea ever.
I also despised Squall.However, I also never like Zidane or Cloud either. Funny, most of FF series had ****ing retarded main characters--->Cloud->Squall->Zidane->Vaan.As for Tidus, I don't have problem with him even though I can't stand his whining habit during early game. Terra or Cecil would be my favorite main character.I dislike FFVIII and FFXII while I never play FFXI and FFC since I don't play online games or never own gamecube.

i enjoyed ff9, a classical game were everyone is all chibi and graphics in that one were pretty nice as well, especially for a psx, but i hated how u dont get xp over boss fights!!

the only thing that makes the game seems to be the least popular is the characters:1)people are not used to see 'shortened characters' in very clear graphics whose ability to show a real-height characters are already proven in FF82)the characters are too weird (vivi's face is so...black...???, the main chara is a half monkey, quina is a very new species, and freya looks like a human but she is not....so what is she???)

I've said it before but the whole series up to that point beside FFVIII had shortened big headed chibi look. Nothing wrong with it in FFVII and games before it hence nothing wrong with it in FFIX.Character weird? Vivi is classic FF series blackmage. Seriously did you play all the FF before FFVIII? Zidane is not half monkey if you have even played through FFIX once. Quina is a quirky Qu tribe and a very good addition with unique skills fitting in as traditional FF Blue mage role. Freya is Burmecian if you even went half way through the first disk to be making any judgement on this game. No, the least popular is FFVIII, that wierd Dawson's Creek-like jRPG clone.Anyway lately people are starting to hate FFXII.

i didn't like 9 too much either. i duno, i just didn't find it entertaining. that's probably because i never played any of the old FF's, only 7 and 8 so i didn't get the whole job thing D;

i beat the game lliek 2 tyms but the thing that keep me playing is teh theme song melodies of lyf thats one of my fav! LOL

Yeah. The music is AMAZINGAnd, the game is not the least popular. It is a great game. Just a tad long, and some scenes are boring. But it is great. don't feel shy about liking it.i beat the game lliek 2 tyms but the thing that keep me playing is teh theme song melodies of lyf thats one of my fav! LOL

They like FF7 most because it was frist 3d PRG (that good one) on PSX,..and fF7 sucked out all of they passion and hatred to RPG,..i beated ff7 3times,..but i know ppl who beated that game 8-10 times..and next was FF8..Final Fantasy WoW..better graphic..some new summons new world new story line..but they dont like raise system,..why? Because in FF 7 was been Materia and they are sticked to it..i liked most ff8,then ff9 and the less ff7,because it haved a sad story in a sad world,..i liked better smile and happines.sunshine out in world and in cities..eot.(End of transmission

I've never played 9 myself, but I hear tons of hate towards 8 and 12. I must admit I liked 8, it was something new to enjoy, but 12 is my least favorite so far. Beautiful graphics, complex gameplay, dull story. I had no motivation to continue, and it seemed like some things were thrown in just for the nostalgia effect.
