I absolutely loved FF9 and everything about it. It just has a really good feel, or ambience to it and the locations in the game are very beautiful. It is the ONLY Final Fantasy I have ever finished and it is my favourite =]

The least popular FF game would probably be FFX-2. So many people hate it because of the "Charlie's Angels" factor that all three palyable characters are chicks, which is a stupid reason not to play a solid game.

I've played every single FFs (without counting the tactics and the many games that were made from others like ff7:dirge of cerberus and FF X-2)except for 11 and this is the list from the best to the worst I've made (This is based mostly on storyline). btw FF VI is great but really underated since most people didn't play that series before FF VII.1:FF VII2:FF VI3:FF X4:FF XII5:FF VIII6:FF III7:FF V8:FF IV9:FF IX10:FF II11:FF ISo, as you can see FF IX is far from my favorite, but it's not the worst either. The graphics were good at the time but the story was bad compared to other games. It didn't have the feel the other FFs have.

not the least, considering most before ff7 are rarely referenced. but if you think a generation gap between 6 and 7 then its the least favorite of the new generation.

yeh i'd have to go with FFIX not being great, but it was overall a solid game so its still good.FFI and FFII...would probably be down there for me, only because it's just too old for me to enjoy it.FFX-2, i won't even start, but i would not hesitate to break that game if i had a spare copy of it lying around.

FF7, 8 and 9 were perfect. The rest seemed either overdone, poorly made or purely graphics.

I don't think FF9 is least popular... I guess it be some of the oldest versions that are least popular..Actually. I'm not sure.. but my opinion, FF9 wasn't as good as FF7 or FF8. <_<

FF9 is great. I like the throwbacks to old FFs. It doesn't top VII, though. But that may just be the inner fanboy in me talking.

FFVI + FFIV > than all other FF games . . . after that I'd say it goes . . . VIII > IX > VII > V > I > II . .. because those are the ones I've played. Not Including tactics & adventure . . . etc.

For me, I love FF9 too. It has great characters and side quests and the storyline was just like all other FF games... Save the world and stuff.. You have to admit the graphics are admirable though. :) :P :P

ffix happens to be my favorite final fantasy. FF 6,7, and 8 had the dumbest battle systems ever. The materia system was a joke. Yeah real fun when all your characters all use meteor over and over again. Same with the esper system, enabling everyone to use the same spells. Whats the point of backround stories when every character is essentially the same. The junction system was a good idea, but horrible abused.thats why FFIX happens to be my favorite FF, each character i felt drawn too, the battle system while simple was perfect. Having to use stategy between the different classes. Mostly the reason that this game did badly was because PS2 was FFX were on everybodys mind. People jsut forgot about this one

The last FF game that I bought was FF9.I didn't finish it, but I hope to do it in the next month.....but I heard that the final boss is not Kuja or Garland, but another enemy that appear only in the end.I know that there aren't also strong monsters like Omega Weapon or Ultima

There is a strong monster like the weapons, in chocobo air garden and believe me he's quite strong ^^Final Fantasy 9 rocks man, the chocobo part is the best ever. (Ok the breeding and racing of ff7 was nice too ^_^)I really love the story and I was happy you werent free to develop every char as you like. I mean, in ff8 and ff7 with the materia system and the junction system you could make a mage out of every char and a fighter, well at the end of ff8 all my chars had 250~ atk power 9999 hp and 200+ mag power, wasnt that fun but hey it was still ok.But in my opinion FF9 is the best ff on the playstation. (except for ff5 that got rereleased on the ps1 but it's actually for the snes)
