if the developers didn't think that the gba would be able to handle the game then who are we to say that they were wrong.

No, I don't think the games should have been made for the GBA too. Sony takes the route in which they staunchly support older consoles. I mean, the PS2 is STILL getting new games. I really think the PS3 suffers because of this, and I would have hated to see Nintendo go the same route with their handhelds.

Well GBA should have had Pokemon D/P because the emulators for DS have a lesser performance then the emulator for Gameboy(VBA). Also there would be no need to keep multiple emulators to play all the games we are fond of, in this case the different versions of Pokemon. :gs:

I think it would have been cool on GBA, but mostly just because I want to be able to emulate it without lag, :)

Considering most of the point of Diamond/Pearl was to entertain the new generation of portable console owners, no it shouldn't have been on the GBA. Also, apart from the recent Black/White, every Nintendo handheld has had one main Pokemon game. Also, now (2011) that more DSes have sold than GBAs ever, it seems like this was the right decision (to make it only for the DS).

There's aboslutely zero point in trying to port over to the GBA. First of all, there is that double-screen/touch screen thing to account for. Secondly, I am fairly sure that all of the DS generation games are too graphics intensive for the port to work.

I thought the touch screen serves very little purpose in the game so yes it should have been for the GBA! But I suppose they had to start somewhere on the NDS.

what would be the point of having a ds then if the games were also coming out for the earlier and cheaper system?

It would've been amazing if it could be on GBAbut that would've brought down exclusivity = sales not concentrated on DSand how would you use the poketch?XDand they stopped all GBA production anyways, so there wasn't any use hoping for it either

You make games for the next gen consoles. Otherwise, what's the point in even having spent all that time making the console.

this is correct this isGPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - tedsb16

In comparison to the DS's graphics, the GBA probably would have made it look, and pardon my bluntness, butt-ugly.I mean, the GBA doesn't have bad graphics by any stretch of the phrase, but if I was playing it on that system I don't think I'd be able to un-see all of the shiny new-looking DS sprites.

yes. i've got both consoles, but apparently i am not allowed to buy games because my mom wouldn't allow me to buy anymore, claiming that "YOU WILL NOT PLAY THE CONSOLE OVER YOUR PS3!!!" for some reason she lets me get gba catridges.

I prefer playing GBA so I would have liked it if they had developed a version for GBA as well
