They should hv been in GBA cuz i had to spend more than 50 bucks to buy that DS and if it was on GBA i would hv emulated it smoothly in my PC

It makes sense because all the other Pokemon games were game boy compatible. How do you turn around and make one that isn't. So inconsistent!!

I admit to not having read most of the arguments in this thread, but I can't really understand why D/P should've been put on GBA. DS was the future for Nintendo handheld gaming, so it was only natural that Pokemon would also make the next step along with it. Why anyone wouldn't upgrade from GBA to DS aside from financial issues also seems strange to me, because it's pretty well superior in every way. But putting that aside... Pokemon D/P wouldn't have been the same on GBA, and with the two games paving the way for the 4th generation of Pokemon games it was a smart idea for them to be DS exclusive. With the GBA port of the original DS and DS Lite, it made it possible to hook up 3rd and 4th generation games, too, allowing people to not only have their old Pokemon on their new games, but use their old Pokemon over WiFi. Trading and battling has gone to a whole new level because of DS, and GBA would've only dwarfed that aspect of the series' progression. Change might be hard in some cases, but in this situation it was well-welcomed.

I don't really mind. The graphics on the NDS are cool, but they should also make one for GBA too since it has consistently been on GBA.

No. I like my Diamond the way it is. Gameboy had crystal, which imho is way better than any other game. Plus, the graphics are way better than they could have been in the gba.

It shouldn't, doesn't anyone remember the 3D graphics, the GBA can hardly handle 400 polygons @ once.

I dont care if Nintendo is sad.Diamond and pearl are the first* Pokemon DS games, had they been for GBA then they woulnd't be. But There was red and blue mystery dungeon, the same game for GBA owners who didnt have DS, and for DS owners to take advantage of that game +DS features. The two could even link via GBA Union.* Well there was Ranger and Trozei, but those weren't the RPG games like red, blue, yellow, GS, Crystal, RS, Emerald.

I don't really mind. But it is better to have the GBA AND NDS version, so people who own only GBAs/NDSes can play it.

No of course not! There's never being a time where Nintendo would release a "next generation" pokemon games in the samehandheld consoles. If for the GBA there are Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald games why make other games in the GBA?If those games would have been in the GBA, what new features there would be? Perhaps only the night/day system and some other stuff, but not the quality the NDS can give.Note that Im talking of the main series, not the spin-offs like Pokemon Ranger.
