Personally, having a well-balanced team of many types of pokemon can be very important to the outcome of the battle. For example:In your party you have a ground pokemon that is lvl 52, and all your other pokemon are lvl 20-30. And none of them are Electric-type or rock-type. This way, if you are fighting Winona, you hove only a 13% chance of winning. Not very nice odds, huh? But if you have a lvl 50 Magnetric on the field, Your chances automatically increse to 65%! See what i mean?

a balanced team of 6 is the best. u can switch between pokemons judging by their weakness and strength against the other trainers' pokemons. winning will be easier.

I'd always have one really strong pokemon that I spent most of my time training, then two backups. The other 3 are a lower level, and vary depending on what gym I'm going after.

Tough Question.... I normally train on Pokemon WAY over normal. For instance, my best will be lvl 20 b4 I fight the first gym, but the rest will be the normal, around 10.
