I don't see why people got angry about the animation style. These days people put WAY too much care into the graphics. I believe people who put too big of an emphasis into the graphical aspect of a game simply should not be playing Video Games at all. It's not all about the graphics, it's about how the game plays. I believe the cartoony aspect of Windwaker is what made it a great game; I don't believe it would have been as fun if it had Twilight Princess graphics. Each game has graphics that suit that game best. Most of the people who were angry with the cartoony graphics most likely probably never even bothered playing Windwaker, which is a shame because it had a wonderful storyline. Sure the story wasn't as good as Ocarina of Time, but it had me captivated from the beginning. I agree with Fangrox on the whole disliking The Adventures of Link thing (that game was just way too hard and non-Zelda-ish.)

Personally I really enjoyed both the graphical style and the gameplay, probably one of the best i've played. I do hope they do a new Zelda for the Wii in that fashion too

I think the style for windwaker is great for kids who are interested in starting their first zelda game. the game itself isn't that scary-looking as ocarina of time is (i was freaked out by that game), and the puzzles and overall presentation make it a good base for beginner gamers. The more colorful style used made the game much more fun to look at and play.

I don't get why so many people hate the graphics for WW. It's graphics were pretty good in my opinion. Usually when I play a Legend of Zelda game I get bored before I get to the end of it, but WW was so good I actually finished everything on it.Here's my review on Wind Waker.Gameplay 10/10You can't deny the gameplay of this game. It was a flawless storyline. With many Extras to do after beating the game.Music 10/10Classic songs you can't forget! The music was perfect and matched very well to the surrounding you were in. I could listen to the songs while going to sleep.Graphics 8/10In my opinion the graphics were great. I can't give it a 10/10 becasue many people hated it for no reason.

I like it it adds a Uniqueness to the SeriesBut I do Much Prefer the Serious Bold Look of Twilight Princess and Hop they reach for that in the Upcoming games.

I realize a lot of people have had problems with Wind Wakers' graphics over the years, but I enjoyed them. This is the sole reason the Zelda series is so successful. Not only are they not afraid to make risky changes but they almost always seem to work out great. Wind Waker is by far my favorite Zelda title(I know, I know OoT was a great game. This is all personal opinion.) Unlike most people I don't find it cartoonish or childish. I thought the cell shading was amazing, different, and worked extremely well with THIS Zelda title.

Wind Waker's art style was brilliant...it almost hearkens back to the vivid colors of aLttP, and this theme was repeated with the Four Sword games.

I definitely like it, it kind of gives it a fun and childish feel which is what I think the game makers were going for.

Personally, I prefer the more realistic presentations of the other games, but WindWaker's graphics were fine.

I loved the cel-shading style, but I prefer the more realistic style of Twilight Princess.

I absolutely love it. It's my favorite Zelda game to-date (yes, even compared to Twilight Princess) and I love the animation style. I wish they'd make a new game with that kind of animation. I'd buy it in a heart beat. :o *thump thump* yes...that fast.

I do like the cel-shading because i felt it brought a care-free atmospere to the series

Exactly! How it should be on a bunch of islands that you ride to and from on a talking red boat!

I think it's one of the best looking forms of art ever made. I would love to see some of my favorite characters styled like toon Link.

I thought it was great. Its sad that so many people turned this game down by looks alone. Its very original and personally it was a brilliant to say the least.

a lot of people gave windwaker crap for having cartoony graphics. i'll admit i'm more of a fan of the 64 style or the twilight graphics, but i really loved windwaker for what it was. the game is just quirky with a lot of fun characters and fun gameplay. the graphics were good and didn't detract from the gameplay and actually complimented the game quite well.

I don't think the style is a bad style, but I don't think it fit the feel of Zelda very well. If it had been used for a different game, I probably would have liked it.

Originally they did the cel-shaded design to bring more emotion to the characters faces and even then did not do a decent job of it. As far as gameplay went it sucked...I was never challenged throughout the entire game so it was like blowing up fish in a barrel. My mood continued to sour since this person had no relation to Link or his bloodline yet he still gets the triforce of courage? ...Fails all around save for the controls which is about this games only redeeming quality.
