Pokemon R/B/Y are the best pokemon games to date. I actually cried a little when I saw what pokemon became today, with Diamond and Pearl. The new pokemon are so unoriginal.

To tell the truth, it depends on everyones taste's, I mean the originals were some of the most popular, but not everyone liked them the most, like me, I liked the Johto games the most.

I think gold and silver were better. you could explore two regions not just one. and i think it had the perfect amount of pokemon.

Yes, nobody can take away the nostalgia and all of the awsome memories of the original two games, especially the three year craze afterwards. It is rare to find or even see games that had the originality and addictivness with its creativity the way Pokemon did.

Can Mew be catched in Red an Blue?I just know that both games have a remake with the same gameplay, same pokemon, same characters but more functions and better graphics. That's why Leaf Green and Fire Red are better :)

yeah red and blue were extremely good even though gold and silver come in close. if it wasnt for the glitches in red and blue i would actually have to say gold and silver

the first generation has its advantages and diadvantagesthe advantages are that it has the seafoam island cheat to duplicate islands :D disadvantages include,no good moves or no special abilities, as well as some pokemon that i like from the new versions

If you want to have fun with Pokemon Blues/Red, Play through the game with only a Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise. It's tricky at first, but by the end, you get so powerful you can rip through any enemy that comes your way. (Take that Mewtwo!)

all of the tradisional pokemon games are good even the new ones in my opinion but i probobly liked gold and silver the best. (and yes i have played blue) that why i am really hoping for a gold and silver remake for the DS and maybe they can add a few things like they did with firered and leafgreen. And if they do make a remake they must keep the kanto region.

i think two games already beat it...Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon Leaf Green

These games had to be made because hardcore pokemon fans like myself had drained the power on the battery for the game cartridge packs. No one had ever known that there would still be people looking into stores to find a game from ten years ago that would still function. Seriously, that is a dream come true to any game developer. I'd be more concerned about actually selling mine.Due to the fact the game packs of old became obsolete, they had no choice but to re-release the games. However, simply uploading the game to an advanced package would not cut it. The object is to "Catch Them All", and aside from event pokemon, they didn't want to cheat us out of that opportunity. The game was updated with graphics, a tutorial for new players, and packed with extras to continue game life and make it more than just a simple remake.HOWEVER! Dispite all these added options, it was still evident that FireRed and LeafGreen were made simply to appeal to people who wanted the original games legally still, and to fix the connectivity problems advances in gameboy and cartridge technology were making. The clone cannot be better than the original. If you've played pokemon to begin with, you'll have the 8-bits of glory seared into your brain.I just thought of something awesome! Anyone ever buy one of those games which were arcade packs, like galaga and pacman all rolled together?Imagine if they did that to pokemon? Puzzle league, pinball, red and gold rolled together!Games like the red and blue would be hard to work out how to trade if more than one version was on a pack, so mabey not that... But releasing all those games together on the ds with improved processing speeds would be great. It would be more than just re-releasing a game.
