Roy, no doubt. He has that incredible move : B+down. It directly kills when your opponent has 50% or more. That s why i chose him, even though Marth has a better mobility.

Are you talking about Roy's counter move? That's not a one hit kill because, number one, you're not actually attacking and the only way it can kill somebody is if they attack you directly. Number two, counters were horrible underpowered in Melee, meaning it would take some serious damage on your opponent to successfully KO him with a counter.

No, quite the contrary. As beginer, yes, you might have a hard time placing your move on the right time. But as an expert, I find extremely easy to deduct my opponent's movement. It's not this hard, Greenz, trust me. After some little 100 hours playing with friends, you know exactly where your own weak spots are and the counter move become an incredible surprising attack. I know Marth is a great character. He was my best, once. I used to play with him more than 60 hours. But when I try using Roy's counter move, things were cleared that he was the greatest swordman in SSBM. I made some people so angry, you can't imagine! His power is unlimited, believe me. Some of them even calls it a cheat move, no joke.

Link would be my favorite. He's got the sword skills, the arrows and the bombs. I one thing fails, he's got backups.

Link FTW! Link hits hard and has many ranged attacks as well as Melee attacks. Marth and roy have no ranged attacks and their sword attacks aren't that strong. The hold B move is useless because not even a lvl 1 is dumb enough to fall for it.
