They both have their enjoyable parts, 2D has great games like Mario, but 3D has @&*kicking fun action like KH series.

definitely 2D. the classics you didn't have to worry if some guy was coming up behind you that you couldn't see cause you couldn't turn around in time. no, you could see what was in front of you, what was behind you, and that was that. no forwards or backwards, just left, right, up and down.

2D classics. And toon-like graphics above that. I love toon-like graphics, like in Zelda: The Minish Cap for GBA.

I like the classics, and the new 3D adventure games, but I gotta say the new 2D games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl are the best

3d. look, im into classics and all that:metroid, castlevania, mario, link(except the second one.man, what crap!),etc., but how can you beat new games like shadow of the collosus, call of duty, god of war, new metroid/link games, resident evil, etc.?

If you'd have put another choice like "I like both 3d and 2d" I would've gone for that...I like 3D cause it's more appealing and I like 2D because it's less complicated...Also, in terms of online games, 2D usually (i think) has less lag than 3D

it depends on the game. donkey kong games is 2d for me, dont like the 3d donkey kong game. and car games 3d(like mario kart wii) :gs: sports also have to be 3d. so i would say both 3d and 2d

I would definitely say that for value and thorough retro enjoyment it would have to be the 2D stuff... though I have to confess some of the new games out nowadays are fantastic... I still have to finish off Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and I knwo that will take me a while... but I'm enjoying it... but still Mario, Sonic, and Megaman by far are some of the well known 2D characters of our time...Of course, when you think about how some of the games have evolved nowadays, some of the 3D games can't be beat... afterall... Doom, Quake and any of those types of shooters were derived from the original 2D Castle Wolfenstein... and most of the RPGs out today would be nothing with things like the original AD&D 2D games or Bard's Tale...

I'm just a gamer. I don;t really have a preference when it comes to 3d or 2d games, I just play what's fun. My maplestory and WoW chars get about the same amount of playtime as my Console games.

I love the 2D games, some of the 3D games that aren't done right came give people motion sickness. Although, who would have thunk back in the NES days that we would have home consoles with as good of graphics as the PS3 and 360? :schmoll:

Hmm.. I've found myself playing more "Modern" games then i would like to, but its just because its getter harder to find good 2D (ones that i haven't played before, that is). but its still great to go back a re-live the golden days of gaming... even if sometimes i wasn't there to live it in the first place. so classic for me.

the new 3d games have better graphics but lack good gameplay and are very short at least 2d games were longer and harder to compllete the only good thing about 3d is the online play

2D all the way.Its just a shame that they are pretty much bringing everything to 3D.Some games just feel better in 2D.

It really depends on what type of game it is.With Strategy and RPG games, I prefer 2D. I would do almost anything for Square Enix to pull a Capcom and make another retro Final Fantasy game. But with FPS and Adventure (Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Oblivion-type) games, I enjoy them being in 3D. I guess it might be the ability to get into the simulation, but I dunno.

While the 3D these days can look amazing, there's always a certain charm around those beatiful 2D sprites, especially in fighting games. I can't really decide...

3d games, as long as the graphics goodaka, not entirely flat, as in mouths that don't move but look like car grills
