The Wii is a unique system with a lot of possibility, I think it's safe to say that it'll be around for a very long time, so long as great titles keep being released for it

I think the only thing which might make it last considerably less time than expected is the difference in graphics. If Playstation or Xbox come out with a new system in 4-5 years, its going to put a lot of strain on the wii, which already has inferior graphics. Also, not playing blue-ray hurts it a lot. But otherwise, the technology and interface is innovative, its only a question of how long people will still be impressed by it, I'm hoping it lasts for a good 6-7 years

honestly i think it can go the distancee. it seems that the possibilities for motion games are endless and since there are so many motion that can be created the possibilities are limitless.

How long do you think the Wii will last before nintendo comes out with a new system? Im gonna take a guess and say 4-5 years.

If Nintendo doesn't up the anti on their titles, hardcore gamers will get bored fast. I'm a huge Nintendo fanboy, and I must say, I'm pretty unhappy with Nintendo's 'casual' behavior lately.

I suppose it'll last 2 or 3 years. Ohh, and there were rumors of new Nintendo System in 2011-2012, but still rumors (saw it on several BBC).

Yeah give it 4 to 5 more years for the Wii console, hope the next system improves on the level of player interaction more. Hey, aren't they going to stop importing Wii's soon because of a copyright infringement involved with the wii remote??

GC lasted quite a while, but the wii has tons more potential. The wii motion plus will bring wii sensitivity to the next level.

Remember, there is 2 things that give it the edge.1. Various controllers. They could make as many controllers as they wanted to, allowing versatality.2. Games. They have the chance to make so many innovative and addicting games, that it could last 6 years with luck.

The Wii'll be around for a good long while. 4 years minimum. Nintendo is still making loads and loads of cash off the thing, and with the other console makers wanting to push back the "next generation" even longer in order to recover losses made on the PS3 and 360, it's not going to happen any time soon.

Considering how HUGE its opening was and how it still kinda hard to get , the wii should do fine. I say 'bout 6or8 years, 10 max.
