I never was to keen on the halo franchise, so for me gears is the king !!!!

Just recently played Halo 3 for the first time and it was alright. Just about the same as Halo 2 I suppose. Never played Gears of War but from the looks of it I would say it would be a close tie. Considering that I've only played Halo 3 I'm going to say Halo 3 is my choice.

iv always been a halo fan and halo 3 is awesome!!!!!! but i tried gears for the first time at a lan center and it was pretty cool,..... but,,, i love halo 3

Halo is just like any other sequel and its the same thing like all 1st person shooters. i liked gears because of the over the shoulder kind of camera. it reminded me of resident evil 4. for some reason i enjoy gears a lot more than halo. probobly because i suck at halo

Gears of War was a great game to get you into a blood frenzy. I mean chopping up people with a chainsaw-bayonet. Muah! Beautiful stuff. But it got repetitive. Oh, they're comin' from the ground again. Oh, shoot, shoot, chop. Shoot, Shoot, Chop. And then it was over so soon. I think Halo 3 has Gears beat because it felt Epic, and with the special items like the bubble shield it played differently than Halo 2 and 3 but was still really a great shooter. It also on legendary lasted a pretty long time. The last few levels were hell. So I would say Halo 3 was my prefered game.

I would perfer Halo for the more fed story line but as long as tactics wold go I would go for Gears but if you want straight up Arena brawl then go for the Halo style but both are good for multiplayer it just depends on your style of FPS.

I like em equally they are both must buysok! this is a hard choice. i love gears of war and this is a fact. gears is really fun and it is even more, when multiplayed. still halo 3 is the best! i have been a halo fan ever since it came out! i posted this topic you hear your thoughts

Hmm, first playing Gears, I thought it was amazing and crazy awesome! But when you are with a bunch of friends, and want to play a multiplayer game, Halo is the way to go! Gameplay for both are amazing, but I have to say Halo beats Gears of War for me...

Well. That's a toughie. Halo 3 is fun for multiplayer, but gears of war has just some crazy moments in co-op. I... like the co-op in Gears of War better than that of Halo 2.So, yeah. Halo 2.

Gears of war, definitely. The cover system and strategic gameply beats out Halo's "i can dance all day" method anyday.
