most people agree that gameplay is more important. This makes sense because if you are going to play a game you would like it to be fun.

Obviously gameplay MUST be the winner. Take Pong for example, easily one of the greatest games of all time and what are the graphics like? Practically non-existant. But it still held people's attention for hours. And it still holds mine. Graphics is simply a tool to get people to buy new games. Period.

So your saying that bad graphics=bad gameplay? If so then that's the dumbest thing I've heard since Greedo shooting at Han Solo first. Graphics are nice and all but they mean nothing if the game itself is crapola.

Gameplay because you can have a really nice looking game, yeah but if theres no real storyline its gonna suck, also the matter of how you play and crap.

Completely agree. If the look at Crysis, awesome friggin graphics but honestly, the gameplay nor storyline were good.

I was always more of a gamplay person. You know, a great game doesn't always necessarily have great graphics, and a game with great graphics isn't always necessarily a great game.

i though i ever answered this question before or maybe not. i prefer graphics, due to the one of my favourite games have very very boring gameplay but the graphics bind me to keep playing it and waiting for the next title even after almost 20 years.

You need both to play a game and enjoy it.

I perfer the both, because if the graphics are bad and the game play is good I'm just not interested. The game play of course is the important part.

Gameplay is the most important by far.I still fondly remember the old text driven games. They forced you to think and and imagine this wild new world. Some the graphic intense games make you mostly a spectator and not a participant.

For me most of the time neither graphics or gameplay are an issue, as long as the story is good. If a game has good graphics and gameplay, but has a story that is dull as heck, I hate the game, though if the game has bad graphics and gameplay, but a good storyline, I love it. The best example is Sonic Next Gen, I don't care about the glitchy gameplay, its still one of my favourites for its varied storyline.

anyone who prefers graphics isnt a real gamer...the escapism element lies in a story that draws you in like a good book, not just a visual appeal

Gameplay hands down. N+ on the XBOX live, coming soon to PSP and DS, looks like it was made in a high school media class, but man is it addicting

Mine is surely gameplay. Pokemon Gold and Silver are surely much better in gameplay than pokemon diamond and pearl.

I liked both also. As long as it satisfies me, it would be fine.
