I'm with the majority with this one. I prefer Gameplay more than Graphics....The Graphics are important, no way I'd play a game lookin' like Teletubies, :(. But I still prefer gameplay 'cause the Gameplay can really get you addicted to the game, XD.

i like both, but gameplay is much more important. what's the use of good graphics if the gameplay sucks? actually, i could live with n64 graphics now.

the game play is always a lot more important than the graphics. i usually find myself going back to the older games that i have loved so much. Sure good graphics helps but i still believe that without the good game play it would be a waste of time.what would be the point if the game had the most realistic graphics in the world but in that game all you do is walk down a street.

Without gameplay a game will be forgotten as soon as a better looking game comes out. All the long lasting classics are good because of the gameplay they had.

Actually i care about gameplay much more than graphics. I play old games really often, so the bad graphics doesn't bother me

Well...i think that gameplay>graphicsIt's sad that Sony games are getting crappier, since Sony decided to make real-looking games without a good gameplay(of course, there are exceptions)An example of this is Nintendo.Every console is a revolution is confronted with the previous one.THIS is trying to improve gameplay.(Prepared to be killed by Sony consolle war fans)

Well, it depends. If the graphics are really, REALLY bad (like they make your brain hurt), then even the gameplay wouldn't make up for it. But since most games aren't like that, Gameplay>Graphics. And I agree with you, BTTB. Sony's Graphics Over Gameplay feel for games is why they're losing this console war.

Graphics and game play go hand in hand to make a great game, but when it comes down to it game play is more important.

Obviously gameplay is more important, and that's why I prefer Nintendo. Everyone knows that Nintendo isn't up to speed on graphics, but also everyone knows that they have been innovating since they began in the '80s.I've played really bad games that had graphics that blew me away. On the other hand, I've played games that handle so well I don't even care about the graphics. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64 is a great example of this.

Seeing as how CS 1.6 and Rollertoaster Tycoon are my favorite games currently, I'd have to say gameplay is moar important. tbh, I expected virtually everyone who voted to put down gameplay as more important, and perhaps those who voted vice versa did it for the lulz or misread it. I don't want my games to be boring picture books.

liking a game just because of its graphics is silly. Gameplay is always the most important aspect for me.

I guess game play matters more, but both should be taken into consideration. I mean either one without the other is like a fish swimming on land.

Game play is more important than graphic. If you had a really good looking game but the game itself sucked whats the point of playing it.

half life two was amazing, because it combined both (they still use its physics engine). but i can still sit down and play tetris for hours and not get bored. crysis, a game designed to show off the engine, bored me after a while, and only had about 6-8 hours in it. that had fantastic graphics, but not enough gameplay. gameplay is much more important.

Definitely gameplay. I gave up on FFXII because of the gameplay...I have an eye for amazing graphics (i.e. Odin Sphere), but gameplay matters more. It determines a game's replay value and how enjoyable it is .

Hand me Gameplay over graphics anyday. I would much rather play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night or any Castlevania 2-D games than their 3-D counterparts. Same goes for the Super Mario and Zelda series.--Michael
