Has anyone ever seen the anime Texhnolyze? It's probably the most complex anime series I've seen. It's also pretty gory. It's quite violent and I'd say there is moderate blood spillage pretty much every episode. In a stagnant world there is a group of people who fight on to live.. Where it's fashionable to dismember yourself to get fantastic, powerful, cybernetic limbs. There are clashes between rival gangs. People get violently kicked, punched, gunned down, stabbed....... raped and dismembered. Surprisingly, no narcs involved. However, a plant called "Rafia" that miraculously suppresses the rejection of foreign organs/tissue is desirable. Er, I think I'll shut up now. The show is way more complex than that. I just wanted to illustrate the violence. Highly recommended if you care for cyberpunk and a fan of Yoshitabe ABe.

ehm, maybe BLOOD+?hahaha, i chose that because the name, yeah, besides that, the main plot is about 'blood war'. Where a girl named Saya have to fight the chryptorians. . .and her own evil twin sister. They're not human, they are vampire,Its a movie sequel from a movie called BLOOD: The last VampireBsed on what i thought,It's animation is A LOT much better, than The Movie, especially, the boys are so handsome >< hehehe

Erm, probably Elfen Lied, from what I heard has a lot of blood and gore? Possibly heads flying around, but be aware it also has a bit of nudity in it. Then, Hellsing or Claymore has some blood.Higurashi no Naku Ni has some bloody but its more of a horror.

Princess Monoke was the first Anime I saw that had dismemberment and blood! I almost spat out my Coke when I first saw it! Ive since seen bloodier films, but this seemed to fit in well without being overdone.

GANTZ (uncut), Hellsing Ultimate, and Elfen Lied all rank near the top of my list.but if they ever turn the Battle Royale manga into an anime...that might just take the cake.
