Music is a necessary in a game as it helps keep the game in memory. A notable soundtrack is Mystical Ninja 2: Starring Goemon on N64, which had some great songs. In particular, the Ryugu island temple music sticks in my mind and brings back fond memories. Also, who doesnt know the mario theme song? Many other songs (you would be surprised) if I played them to you, would bring back memories of fun that you had. Now I feel old.

Music is almost the most important factor in a game to me. Like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for ps for example, without music it would just be totally awesome, but with music.. there are no words for it =)

i think the use of sound is incredibly important, whether it be music or well-placed silence. it sets the atmosphere for a game. besides, until we have full-on VR, we only have a few senses to involve in gaming, and sound is a big one of them!

Without music most players who have a dull sense of gameplay. You need the music to give it extra style. That's why they made Super Smash Bros Series.

I don't think I could play a game if it's soundtrack didn't meet a certain criteria I require.Hell, I'd probably enjoy a bad game if it had a great soundtrack.

the best music was from the sonic games they kept me coming back for more to hear it

Same case with me. It's what makes me play the next-gen Sonic games, even though they suck gameplay wise.

Music's critical.... It sets the scene, and it adds atmosphere. A poor or inappropriate soundtrack is probably worse than no soundtrack whatsoever.Like some others, I am quit einterested in game OSTs... Particularly those for the Ys series, which are incredible! And like Zach and Unreal, I do enjoy the music from the Sonic series, too 8)

Music in a game is really important...Because let you feel INSIDE a game.... Therefore, a game like Elite Beat Agents without music would be not so much...

The final fantasy music is so good that the soundtracks sell really well. For RPGs it's just as important as the story.
