It's a fine line as to what is cheating, is looking at a guide cheating, talking to friends, reading a walkthru or is just using a device cheating. I think they all have there place it's up the the individual as to how and when.

Personally I never use cheat codes anymore, with the possible exception of old games I have beaten before. Using cheat codes earlier just ruines the game for me. On the other hand I have deffinately used wakthroughs when I get stuck or changed game files to unlock more playable factions in games like the total war series. For me it is all about what lets you get the most enjoyment out of your games, and if people wanna cheat, let em.... multiplayer is another story...

yia, only feel bad if u used a cheat to unlock something that u get later on(losses its worth). o.O

Exactly! But when you've been trying to get through a level for two weeks, cheating is the only option....

I find that there is 2 types of 'cheating'.Your type 'cheat-to-win' style:People play the game to have the unfair advantage, like a wall hack or aimbot in FPS games or unlimited hp in any game. NOT GOOD!The 'cheat-for-fun' style:Where you cheat to get the most powerful item in the game, to see 99999999999999999999999 damage appear when you hurt an enemy, or get a fly hack so you can get to areas where you couldn't before. GOOD!That's just my opinion.

I like to try to beat the game normally. But I will cheat if I have to rather than have a heart attack, muttering profanities for hours. I also like to cheat if I am replaying a hack version of the game.

Cheating is only bad if you lie about it or use it on online, which is what broke MP Hunters for me. Five matches in a row had cheats to get aimbots with Imperialist, and trust me, I could tell. The only game I cheated before getting substantually into it was Castlevania OoE, and only because it was just TOO hard for me.

I used to cheat a lot with games, but in recent years I've found it more enjoyable to go through without cheating. That isn't to say I don't still do it, however, I mostly limit it to unlocking stuff I can't get through normal means, such as the GBA slot bonus items in Super Robot Wars K, namely the SRW2 item, seeing as the GBA version of the game was a special giveaway deal, and many of the enemy only units in Tactics Ogre: Knight of the Lotus. Sometimes cheating can be necessary though, perhaps you've reached a point in a game that you just can't get through any other way. Perhaps the game just decided to throw you an awful curve ball and has become next to unwinnable. Regardless, I guess it all comes down to the player and how they want to do things, my way works for me, but might not work for everyone else.

cheating the game somewhat spoils the challenge...but i did sometimes especially when its really hard. i did once in tenchu 4, wrath of heaven, at the bonus stage, the boss was really strong that i'm frustrated repeating the stage again and again XDi still couldn't beat him T_T so i tried cheating ~lol~ the cheat made me infinite life :sniper: revenge against that bonus stage boss!but i still felt bitter because i wasn't able to beat it without cheats

I cheat when the game gets annoying or wen it gets hard. I think cheating is ok because it doesn't hurt anyone.

I use small cheats like invincibility but only when I'm stuck. when I beat the game I go psycho with putting all the cheats on and TRY to screw up the game, if cheats aren't available I look for glitches.

Not really. I usually cheat just to attain something that too hard or almost impossible in any regular meanings. Like how to get Ho-oh, Lugia, or other that needed to be traded on Pokemon Emerald.

Cheating makes the game totally boring! D: I'd only cheat if I've finished it already. Not even if I'm stuck! >:] Because if the beta testers of the game could finish it, so can I!

I used to cheat everytime i played an emulator game (save states). So much that it became kind of a habit to stretch for the load button everytime something went a little wrong. I've managed to break that habit now, though, only savestating when it would be too frustrating to play normally. Oh, and since I suck att RTS games, the only way i could ever finish Starcraft and Warcraft 2/3 was with cheat codes. That was quite a while ago though.
