It's not really bad if it's a single player game... but if you are playing with others, yes it is very bad. I don't cheat though, I find it makes the game boring.

If it's a single player game, no prob. But in multiplayer? That is some straight ****.

I used to cheat when I was younger, still remember the codes iddqd and idkfa for the original doom, but nowadays I never cheat because it just makes the game seem so boring. I'll occassionally use a walkthrough if I get stuck on something but I'll never outright cheat and use codes

I hate cheating, and I always regret it afterwards, but sometimes you get so lost in a temple or something.... Water temple...

Like the majority of people on here, I have a tendency to wait until after I've beaten a game before I start cheating. There are only a few games where I cheat. The Sims 2 is an example. Sometimes it gets boring starting out from scratch, and working your way up. Sometimes you just want the luxury of, well...luxury. Though it tends to get a bit stale after a while, so I go back to my legit houses. Some games I'll cheat, but not save it, not only because sometimes it can ruin stats, like in GTA4, but because you want the satisfaction of beating a game on your own with no help at all.

I'm not a fan of cheats in the least bit. Most, if not all, MMOs I've played over the years (F2P baby!) were plagued by bots, hackers, glitchers, autoers, etc., basically, whatever name you can give to a player that engages in an action(s) that ruins your game experience. I love fairly beating games, cheating is a no-no for me.

For games like The Sims, cheating is just another way to experiment and enhance your gaming experience, but if you cheat for other games it can just ruin the experience and get boring - a challenge is always good.

I am of mixed feelings on this topic. On the one hand, I HAVE been known to put in a cheat code now and then in order to pull through a difficult level, but ONLY to the point where I can figure out what needs to be done to properly get through the area in question. It was mentioned earlier, and I feel it is right...cheating DOES take the point of the game away, as there is no incentive to win! As for cheating in online games, I feel this is unfair to the people that play fairly, and people that break the rules or take advantages of the flaws or bugs in the game should first be deprived of the benefits they gained from it, then banned for a reasonable period of time if they continue to exploit the game, and, if all else fails, a permanent ban if they continue thier actions. I do realise that some types of banning are not effective, as some IP adresses are dynamic (change each time they log into the Internet, for those that don't know); some "professional" cheaters choose thier ISP for that reason, so they can get around thier bans. However, thier activities usually end up giving them away, and the dance begins again. :foldarms: As a further note, I am writing this as a former Guide in Everquest, and as a PM in Runescape.Edit:Typo Demon

well, cheating in multiplayer games is really bad, but when you use them in singleplayer, i think its fair, and its kinda funny when i overrun all the map in age of empires 3 with monstertrucks, or to see musketeered every time something was killed by musketeer.

I don't even remember the last time I cheated in a video game, and I have a good memory. cheating takes away from a game, and I like to beat games on my own skill. Cheating to me is like admitting the game is beyond my capabilities as a gamer, which is like losing, and I hate losing.

I think that after playing through an entire game going back and using cheats to sweep through the entire thing in a fraction of the time is oh so satisfying

Depends. If the game I play sucks and I just wanna play it to see the ending, I probably use cheats or use a online FAQ to save a lot of fustration...

Well, I'm playing by myself, so there's no biggie. But I generally don't unless it is ridiculously difficult. And that's just games, not tests.

cheating for me is no problem. And cheats are only there for the people who are sometimes completely hopeless and think it is impossible to finish such and such mission. But what they dont understand is that games are made so they you can finish them and they are actually possible to finish without trainers, hacks and cheats.

Is the cat in the box alive or dead?

If you open the box, you will know the answer.

You will know the truth.

However, until you open the box, you can claim that the cat is alive, and you can also claim it is dead.
