yes, it was never touted as an amaizing game. it was always touted as a sim, and was made specificaly for marines and army people to practice.so therefore isnt over rated. it was only made as a game cause some game company liked it, i think thq, didnt they distribute it?Wasnt that supposed to be a training program for the marines?Full Spectrum Warrior ... many of you might not know of it but it was touted as the SOCOM of the XBOX and it turned into just simulation shooter.

ffta definately. bad graphics and worse music. less plot than LoM, and Marche's hair all add up to make this game one of the worst since legend of zelda 2 for NES.

sorry to graverob a old tread but I had to say thisTheres no such word as a over rated game because over rated to you is games you don't like that everyones likes or just a very good game.Just because you don't like doesn't mean its over rated.They got high sells for a reason because it was good to its buyers.

what about blair witch project? i know its a movie not a game.but it won so many awards and was seen by so many people its rediculous, and its been voted as one of the worst movies ever made. that means it WAS over rated.and there are games like that too. just because it sells high and gets awards doesnt mean it realy is good, therefore its overrated. Halo 2 was possibly the biggest flop and dissapointment I have ever seen. I was all ready for the game and excited to try the then called plasma sword. Yet, when it came out, all that I heard for the next... hmm wait, it's still going on.... was "Halo 2 this..." and "Halo 2 that..." When in reality, being a covenent was not fun or different, the new vehicles sucked, and the weapons were to overpowered. All in all Halo 2 wasn't very good, and sold way to many games and to many people are far to obsessed with it for their own good.

To say that FF7 is truly an over-rated game is hard to argue. It's success and true value lies not in it's gaming aspects, but rather in it's business and marketing aspects. Not that it's a bad game, in fact it really IS a gem. But the real deal behind the craze is that FF7 was the game that brought final fantasy into hi gear in the states. When it came out there weren't that many games for the original Playstation, and even fewer that were of it's calibur. That's why this game sticks out so much. This game was so far ahead of the competition that it simply wowed and wooed audiences. And because the PS lacked a quantity of games, many non-RPG players decided to take a chance and see what all the rave was about. The game had a incredibly deep and thorough storyline, something that many new RPGers had yet to experience, and brought them into this genre. This meant squaresoft now had a greater audience to sell their games to, and thus giving them the potential to push their limits and boundaries as a business. That is why FF7 truly IS a gem. It's just that when we look back into the past, with all the advanced the gaming industry has made it doesn't seem so big anymore. Now that we have moved on, it's luster doesn't attract us anymore. although i wholeheartedly love the game, i have to agree with Halo 2. the single player makes me feel like i was cheated. Bungie promised to eliminate all teh bad things of Halo, but here they are, back again, with pathfinding problems, repetitive level design, a crapass story, and What, a cliffhanger?! sure, onjline multi is awesome--but WHAT IF YOUR FAMILY'S CHEAP, AND WONT BUY YOU XBOX LIVE?!?!?! WHAT IF YOU ONLY HAVE 2 CONTROLLERS, AND HAVE BEATEN THE CAMPAIGN SEVERAL TIMES?!i have lost faith in bungie.

i totally agree with this ffvii was way to over-rated it wasnt that great at all i personally liked ffxi and ffx-2 ff1 is pritty good but most over rated probly halo2.FFVII. >_>I honestly don't think it's as good as most people say it is.

Final Fantasy 4, 5, and 6 all rocked. Overrated games? Decidedly, that would be any sport game ever made (almost...)Golden Sun 1 was fun. GS 2 was... more of the same. Blaaaah.Super Mario RPG rocked, Paper Mario was decent.The GBA Mario games were actually not incredibly bad. However, they were little more than ports of already-ancient games... and for that, they must DIIIIIEEEE!

I agree with you there. I tried to play it and it just left me wanting to punch something, that game had the worst plot and biggest retarded fan base of any FF game.FFVII. >_>I honestly don't think it's as good as most people say it is.
