ya know... credit where credit is due... i like games that are good in every aspect.. even if its not my type of game...cause i respect a good game.i like halo and halo 2 cause i'm good at em... but i also love the nfs series. esp underground 1 & 2 and most wanted.see the thing is... there games that weren't made well... so i generally don't like em... it all depends... don't bash tho.. there's no point.so realize that for its genre, halo 1 and 2 were both some of the best ever put out. the nfs series has some of the best racers... simple fact.... but not all are perfect....

I agree with most of what people have said here, but I can't believe no-one has noticed all the "movie games" being released today. I think it's okay if it was a game first, but the movies today all follow a simple template - (some kind of animal) has a problem. The problem gets solved in the end and they usually find love.This can be brain-meltingly boring as an actual movie (not to mention outrageous), but then they all try to make loads of money out of the movie (i call it "milking something that wasn't good anyway") by making cereals out of it and putting toys in McDonalds boxes...well this happens in the UK if it doesn't in the States.Anyway, these games are overrated before they're even out, with hope of having the same excitement it gave everyone when the movie came out (i.e. none at all), so all the little kiddies rush out and spend there money on these platformers (yes, they are always platformers. No taste at all.Just platforms, ladders and 75% cutscenes for what they can't shove into the game one way or another. No storyline really, so no chance of being an RPG, FPS or whatever..).I think games like these are so overrated that people actually buy them who haven't seen the actual movie anyway..this seriously offends every good game I have ever played, and every game that has been thought through by people other than the patronising people at Disney Pixar who make these lumps of cr*p in game form.Spectek(Sorry for the essay, I do tend to go on a bit. If you read all that, I salute you.)

Most of the RPGs. Until SNES it was getting better and better games but now It's very repetitive... Dragon Quest VIII is a good example.

I think the Halo games are the most over-rated, also Golden Sun, or the movie games, like Madagascar. Even Pokemon games and also Grand Theft Auto.

I remember the digimon series being huge when I was younger, never liked the playstation games for it, but everyone else did..

Yep... I can name a few super overated games...Zelda (from N64 to now)Final Fantasy (from the VIII to now)Kingdom Hearts (I and II)Everyone loves it but in my opinion those games are not huge. Indeed... They are flukes.

The Golden Sun games and Super Mario RPG. They're just plain terrible.

Golden Sun is great.The over-rated games are those wrestling games like Raw vs Smackdown and $h!t like that...

I think the Metal Gear Solid games are the most overrated. I can't stand them. I much prefer Splinter Cell.

Fable was pretty crap. From what I had heard about it I expected alot more than a short game with few skills and a boring plot with limited choice in the outcome of the ending.I heard alot of people say ff VII was the best in the final fantasy series, including the games for PS2, but the graphics and sound were average IMHO, and the story could've used some improvement...
