Try typing the word "fa!l" on dgemu when posting, it appears as succeed. Spell it properly though, F-A-I-L without the dashes, doh!

if you have a normal psp, i dun think there's a need to buy this cos seriously, i think is a waste of $$ to buy new psp. both have the same function only difference is the weight and size, other than that, i dun seems there's a need of it

I hear a lot of people calling the PSP slim cheap and easy to break, in other words overall worse than the PSP PhatBeing that I have one and know all of it's features, at first glimpse, it does look cheap and easily breakable, the UMD cover dosen't help matters either, it does look like it is easy to break off, so visually (and maybe the other 4 senses too), it does seem like crap, that is until you take a closer lookFirst, it is much lighter, I don't think it matters that much being that the PSP Phat is somewhat light to begin with, but you can tell a big difference if you were to hold each version in either hand, the slim feels noticably lighter, but that is not enough for someone like me to get a slimSecond, there is an impression around a screen that looks like it has a screen protector pre-applied to the slim, I am not sure if this is a screen protector or of it is just a lense/cover for the LCD screen, but I am pretty sure it is a pre-applied screen protector, though again, not enough that I would find it worth itThird, which kind of goes along with the first one, it is a little thinner, being that the slim doesn't have the lumps that are on the PSP Phat, while this is a big plus (mostly for those of us that put our PSP in our pocket), still not enough to make me get a slimFourth, the PSP slim (commercially known as the PSP model 2000) has higher compatibility with newer updates, this is until the Phat will become obsolete to the point that it would only be worth to use if you had a CFW installed, and for us OFW users (and be proud that you haven't voided your warranty by installing a brick-prone, even with recovery mode, custom firmware), the PSP Phat will soon become useless, this dosen't mean that the Phat will become unusable, our friends at Sony will at least leave gaming and video compatibility up in the updates for the Phat owning crowd, but if you want extra features that will be in these updates, you may want pick up a slim, and for that, I do find that enough for me to think about getting a slimFifth, and this is the big one, unlike the PSP Phat, the PSP slim has video out (only to componet compatible televisions it seems like though), so this means, if you're like me, and have a shelf full of UMD movies, and have always wanted to see those movies on your television without getting that distorting cone shaped PSP screen capturing camera, but also don't want to void your warranty by mutilating the PSP Phat to include video out, the PSP slim does include this, and out of personal experience, also produces a DVD quality image to any size television, even on projectors (for those saying that the video out on the slim produces horrible video out), so with the video out alone, hot dog, that's why I got the slim to begin with, it's worth every penny of it's price tag (but then again, if you are the type that avoids getting UMD videos, and converts everything from DVD to MP4, the PSP slim may not be worth it, but I would highly urge you to consider buying the UMD version of videos, then to get the slim)So behind that cheap outer shell, the PSP slim packs a lot of interesting featuresBut while i'm giving a good rep for the slim, I do have to point out some facts that you may not like about the slimFirst, the slim is not homebrew friendly, the slim is not compatible with OFW v1.5, which is a must for homebrew, given you can find a lot of homebrew for other firmware versions, v1.5 is where homebrew started, meaning it's one of the best bases for some really good homebrew apps, but since it's not compatible with the slim, that may be a big drawback in getting oneSecond, there is no IR, given there not being any official PSP apps that use the IR connectivity to begin with, but being that there are some homebrew apps that use IR, that may in some way work with the slim, will not work with the IR featuresThird, as you may have already guessed, they PSP slim is more breakable than the Phat, if you are like me, and actually treat the things you own with care, there is nothing you have to worry about, but if you are the kind of person that throws your handheld/controller due to anger of losing, the slim may not be for you, but if you do that, no technology may be for you, so if you do, start treating your property with respect, or sell/throw away all electronic devices you own, but then again, I can't control that, so that is up to you, and the PSP Phat may stand up to more abuse you may throw at it (sorry for that little rant there, but people do need to take better care if thier stuff)Fourth, the last time I have checked, there are only componet cables for the slim, so if you have an older television that dosen't have componet inputs, you either have to get a converter (if they exist), or you have to take the chrominamce (<spelling?) line (it's either the blue or the green, try both, it's the one thta shows the image, the other won't, I think it's green) and connect it to the yellow (video) connector on your televison, but it shows up as a B&W image, so for those that don't have a componet compatible television, unless you don't mind watching your PSP on TV in B&W, you may not want to get the slimFifth, I have found the speakers on the slim much quieter on the slim versus the Phat

Having played around with the revised PSP for a few days, we thought it time we let you know our thoughts. Clearly many areas of the handheld remain identical to the original model and as such we won't be covering those in particular detail (but you can always check out our original PSP review), preferring instead to focus on the elements that have changed and how these may or may not improve the PSP experience – which, we suspect, is why you're reading this. The first thing that strikes you when you slide the new PSP out of its slender 23(L) x 12.5(H) x 8(D) cm box is that it feels too light. Even once you've slotted in the new 1200mAh battery (30g compared with the original's 44g 1800mAh model) – at which point you'll also note the battery cover may open more easily but it's also substantially thinner and more brittle – for an overall weight of 190g (compared with 280g), the handheld feels disconcertingly insubstantial. The sense of unfamiliarity continues once you fire the unit up. It's nothing to do with the starting sequence, nor the front-end, both of which obviously remain identical (for those that may want to know, Slim & Lite comes with firmware v3.60 installed), but the new flat back is instantly noticeable. As is its enamel-like finish, which in a sense further contributes to the overwhelming cheap plastic feel (as well as showing up fingerprints with remarkable ease – the Ice White model can't come soon enough).Give it five minutes, though, and the most wonderful transformation occurs. Because far from feeling too light, too flat, too thin, Slim & Lite suddenly becomes the PSP you've always wanted.Well, within reason, obviously – there's still no second analogue nub, for a start. The point is, almost immediately the old model feels absurdly heavy and cumbersome, while its successor emerges as fresh and decidedly modern. The difference on paper (and even visually) may seem insignificant, but in the hand the contrast is striking. In play, the improvements continue. The lower profiled face buttons are noticeable, though not as much as the alterations to the D-pad, which now boasts less travel and resistance, making it a considerably more comfortable proposition during prolonged play. The differentiation with regards to the analogue nub, meanwhile, is less pronounced but again the level of resistance appears to have been reduced, resulting in a perceived increase in smoothness and accuracy – although we'll reserve final judgement on this particular aspect until we've tried out a wider range of titles. One area more directly assessed concerns the other changes to the design. So, for instance, the UMD tray is now a far simpler affair, opening manually (rather than spring-assisted, as previously) but considerably wider, too. The first time it's used it will feel a little odd, mainly because the UMD now sits loose against the tray until it is closed, but you soon appreciate the relatively more immediate, less fiddly nature of the new approach.Similarly, the repositioned WLAN switch now feels more at home along the top edge of the unit, while the speakers appear to deliver better stereo imaging in their revised location.Which leaves us with one obvious area of interest: the effect of the UMD cache on loading times. We'll be honest in revealing that we've had little opportunity to try out more than a couple of games, but we did notice a two-second reduction in the return to menu screen after finishing a Sega Rally race. Okay, it's a bit of a blink-and-you'll-miss-it improvement but it could be related to the game.Indeed, we've seen video evidence online confirming a massive improvement in the in-game transitions of some titles is possible. If the difference in the loading speed of Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII, for instance, is indicative of what we should expect of future PSP titles, we'd have little issue with arguing that alone is enough to justify the purchase of Slim & Lite.As it is, there are other reasons, too. More intelligent design and better, more responsive in-game control are two but it's the overall improved feel – an element inherently difficult to quantify – that has us convinced. True, it's nowhere near as radical an overhaul as Nintendo performed on the DS, but then you could argue the PSP was already a generation or two further along the handheld evolutionary line than DS Lite's predecessor.Nevertheless, current PSP owners will be thinking long and hard about whether the Slim & Lite model offers enough to warrant the upgrade when, at a glimpse, little appears to have altered. And, clearly, we can't tell you what to do.But if your head is having trouble justifying the purchase, and if it helps, we can at least say this: Don't try the PSP Slim & Lite. Because the moment you do, you won't want to go back to the old model.

I will be proud owner of this wonderful gaming system soon. I really want to have it. It can do a lot of things. But I am still a bit curious ... are there any obvious negatives?

i got a slim too, there are still some issues with homebrew compatibility (did i write that good? XD) but that's that, works greatwhen you have it on your hands it does feel like it would brake it if it falls to the ground, but you just have to take good care of it, i have dropped it twice and still no damage XD

I got a silver slim, and it is hands down better than my buddies phat. Especially with the new patch enabling skype capabilities. It's almost like using an n-gage, only it doesn't suck.In fact, that same buddy said he's going to have to buy a new psp just because he likes mine so much. The weight difference alone was enough to get him hooked.

Personally I dont reckon the PSP Slim is really good compared to its elder brother that is. The battery life is just too low if your using the new battery.

I really like my new PSP Slim. I haven't really had the chance to compare it, but I know that a lot of people like the newer version. I think the only con is that the new one can't really fit into the Playgear Pocket, which is hands-down THE best travel case for the PSP (or so I've heard). I like to protect my $200 investments, so I'm hoping they release the Slim version of the Playgear Pocket soon.

I got the slim as my first PSP. It's pretty much the same as the old one but when I compare it with my friends' it does seem a lot slimmer and lighter. Also you can only use skype with the new one, that might happen with future updates as well.

I bet that sony will try adding a lot more then just skype so it can attract more attention to the psp slim, more slims out there means more money in here (Sony bank account). good for them but bad for us.
