The DS is the way to go. While it's not a technological powerhouse like the PSP, it has more fun and innovative games, and that's what matters most to me. Also, if you buy the right accessories, like the R4 card, you don't need a PSP because you can watch movies and listen to music on your DS with it.

For the design of the console, I will say that DS beats PSP definitely, with touchscreen functionality over it. PSP is obviously better in terms of the graphics quality and framesrate power, but DS is outstanding for the stylus system. Both can be used to watch movies and listen to mp3s provided you know how to get that feature. However, DS gameplay technology is pretty new and recent and hardly any game developers seem to have a great expertise in making great use of the system's full potential, which is why most of the games are crappy and the few that are outstanding aren't totally excellent, with few flaws here and there. As for PSP, I personally like the graphics, but I don't like the elaborate buttons, never understood how those controllers work even for the PS machines.DS is excellent for puzzle games and games using the handwriting recognition feature, which is really something that the PSP cannot compare with it. Personally hate grind games so I got the DS.Pity that there is quite a lack of great games compared to PSP variety for US releases. Hopefully it will change in years to come.Only thing that DS seems to be a machine with less power, wonder what its descendants might be like. I will want a combination of what PSP has to offer for power and graphics with whatever it has now.

While I own both the DS and the PSP, I will have to say that the DS is the cooler system to me. You have two screens allowing for a view of a map or even information about enemies, racetracks, statistics, etc. while you are still playing the game on the main screen. Also the one screen is a touch screen allowing for some pretty awesome control configurations. The DS is more innovative because of this. You also have the game library issue. The DS has more games and they are more fun in my humble opinion. While the PSP does have better hardware specs with handheld systems just like consoles it comes down to the fun factor and mass market appeal. The DS has this in spades. Tie this in with connectivity to the Wii far and above the connectivity between the PSP and the PS3 and you have a winner. The Wii is far and away more popular than the PS3.Fare the well,Belkra

NDS all the way; it's cheaper, cooler-looking, and it has a great library of games to draw from. It can also play the entire GBA library, easily adding 1000+ further games.

I own both, and I must say that I find the DS better. The duel screens is innovative, and they design games around the hardware. For example, the new Legend of Zelda, they designed the weapons for the touch screen. On the PSP, I just picked up The Show 08, and because it is a port of the PS2/3 version, it is harder to play for lack of 2 other shoulder buttons and the right joystick. This is just my opinion though...

For good reason, and I'm sure hundreds have already touched upon this already, but the DS is the cooler system do to the sole fact that it is a PORTABLE GAME SYSTEM, not the Multi-Mediawhore that the PSP is. It stuck to games and only games, which brings the quality along with it.Granted, there are a lot of crappy games on the DS, but there have been crappy games on every system to date. Note that I am disregarding any Sony Fan's argument that there's a greater Sucky : Not Sucky game ratio on the DS than on their own PSP, as such can easily be compared to any argument by any other console fanbase.
