Depends on what you're playing. Like on Wii Sports, the only game that could be considered real exercise is Wii Boxing. Good thing they're coming out with Wii Fit, that'll be a real exercise-oriented game for players wanting to get in shape.

I'll re-enforce what countless others have said before me by saying that it IS exercise as long as you do it right.

Yes, definitely. It is a form of exercise, and in my opinion, just as much exercise as cheerleading. >.<.

The Wii can really give a workout if you decide to move your whole body and not just your hands. (Especially boxing)

I think it is, eventhough its probably mainly for upper body excersize. Plus the fact you have to swing your arms to get a character to attack.

its only an exersice if you make it one. if you barely move your body, then its just like any other console, but if you swing your arms for tennis, and actually punch for boxing, then you wont have to go to the gym

I think playing the wii is exercise, playing the sports for long periods of time can make you sweat.

Yes and no, depends on the game, because if you play a game with no interactivity or a shooter, it doesn't give you any training. But if you play a game with brawling or sports, it will give you a nice training.

honestly it depends on the day..somedays I stand and really work my self about whilst playing, others I laze back on the couch and let my arms do the work...It all depends on how I feel but Im not sure what I will do once the wiifit comes out, sit on it maybe?
