No, the stupid thing is just used for decoration. It's not like it flies out of my hand. My brother on the other hand needs it since he throws a fit whenever something doesn't happen in his favor and he will detroy things, namely throwing the controller at stuff.Basically I can think of no other reason for the wrist strap other than the fact that people get angry when they lose and they have the urge to throw what is in their hands and anything they lay their eyes on.

"Sometimes."I wear the strap when I'm playing something that requires any overenthusiastic swinging of the Wiimote (as I don't need to clock anyone in the face with it (especially not my parents' parrot), or break anything), but I don't if I'm not playing a game that requires any Wii-swinging.

I do on most of my games except like those silly mario games which require no swinging. I will always wear my wrist strap when I'm playing wii sports or I swear I will let go and hit someone in the eye or something >.>

When I still had my Wii, I used to put the strap on sometimes. It didn't affect me since I got the rubber cases. - Worked well.

I only wear the strap if I am playing a game which requires movement of my wrist. If I'm playing My Life as a King, I don't use it.

I really don't wear it at all. If I were to fling my Wii mote so hard with my actions, who is to say that the wrist wrap will even help? It's just thing dangling piece of interference if you ask me. If Nintendo really wanted to ensure safety, they'll introduce some Wii Glove or whatever that will look cool and actually function as a safety feature, plus it will earn them some big bucks that they'll so want.

I don't know anyone who does believe it or not. And we've never had a problem. When they first released the announcements about people's tvs shattering, I always thought that the people who threw their controllers more likely got angry at the system (done that) or were the kinda people who weren't used to how durable video game controllers tend to be and weren't holding them tightly enough.

I do because I like to get into the game not just flicking the wrist. Plus I was unfortunate to be placed with extra sweat glands in my hands making it harder to hold the controller :shifty:
