Anybody is called a nerd when you say something they don't understand. Well, at least that is how it works in my lame school.It is easy to be called a nerd in my school, simply because they are all very stupid. That is not an understatement though, it is very true.

I'm lucky, I go to a school where almost all the people are gamers. The coolest thing is that the outcasts are the people that werent in high school. It's kind of what goes around comes around. Ha.

I play games all the time and also manage to swim and play Rugby, you can still take an interest in other things. People use to call me names when I was younger but did I let it bother me me no, I played sports (was fit); therefore I would have to say they are jealous.

I'm the biggest gamer in probably my whole level, and I get make fun of by some idiots that doesn't appreciate games sometimes, but most people are civil towards me, and they don't treat me as a nerd. Infact, I sorta influence alot of people into gaming, and people probably call us gamers nerd, cause if you are too into games and neglect other part of your life, you'll be isolating yourself from others and it just ain't good for yourself ya noe

Chances are the people who insult you either play games themselves or have never played a game. I have never met a person who doesnt like atleast one game, even my grandmother likes games.

Ive met a few people who donīt like any games at all. That is everyone in my family who is older than 40. In school, most people play games, but they are not gamers. A gamer is someone who has gaming as a hobby. A true gamer (me) is someone who truly loves games.

its because we waste time playing games all day and stuff instead of slamming our heads against the way like the rest of society. but i dont know why they think all nerds are weak anyway... i mean my second favorite hobby is lifting weights. go figure

I have no clue. I can just see a gamer having big ole' glasses with pimples and no friends. Maybe becuase they never go outside (unless necassary).

Well, I think that the name calling towards gamers has calmed down over the years. Plenty of adults even play games now. I'm sure 90% of my school has at least played Madden or vice City. If you're a game fanatic, you probably won't be called one. I've been called a nerd for liking anime and manga, :-\ . I just keep it to myself now, to shy away from people making fun of me for it.

Aftr my last post on this subject I asked my friends about this and they said that they think that gamers are called nerds because the people that have beat us in everything else finally have somthing that we can beat them at over and over and over again. Kinda like Chase, we call him little, well you know, he was a jock all threw school and he started playing games alot when he met his girlfriend and, anyway he tries to beat me in Halo all the time and loses ever time. And that is to all my friends. Its funny he gets mad and we ask him where his skills are now.

The only reason they hate you is because everyone(with an ego) needs to hate or have power over something.This makes them feel like a better person.If you are getting picked on go take some aikido, shaolin, or wing chun.(the only 3 styles that really actually work in the street.)Then they can feel like they have power over you when in fact they have nothing, but they don't even know it. Trust me its hilarious!

i think its because most jus stay home n play gamez 24/7. im a gamer but i also play basketball n git outside n stuff go 2 parties n dance n stuff. so i thinks its because they jus stay home n play games

well i think alot of people are "Gamers" but just dont consider themselves to be one... cause almost everyone plays games, doesnt matter what kind of game... but yea, people just dont understand, thats why they hate gamers..

NERD is more associated to the people who dissasociate themselves from society and many of these ppl do this by playing computer games - because they have no other talents - if you call sitting in front of a computer screen for way too many hours a talent.some people consider the name NERD a title - and are pround to have achieved this status - though many tend to lose their lunch money and don't get on with girls vry well...

Nerds???On my school im well know as a quality gamer, i have a friend of mine whos also crazy about games and he aint rejected!!By the contrary he is quite funny and we like to have im around as a friend!On the other hand people are called nerds because their life is a small cube named "Computer"When they spend hours and hours sitin on a chair trying to acheive a last games level or taking off a virus!That concludes my Explanation!
