In a way they all are. Nintendo Wii you can buy SEGA, NES, and SNES titles to play on your Wii. And 360 has a few good old-school console games in the Arcade that you can buy. But if any of these companies re-released a consoule I think they should do what atari did and release a console that looks similar to the original but packed full of the best selling games in the machine itself. If someone wanted to play old-school games on an actual consule I'm sure they could just find one with whatever games they want to play for pretty cheap. So...no. I don't think people would pay for a rehashed console and seperate cartridges for it again. Theres just too many allternatives.

The virtual console is doing just that in title, as I'm sure everyone has already picked up on. On a further level, haven't they been re releasing their throughout their history? you have sonic and mario being re released in many, many games. This is not a negative point as both mascots have appeared in several classic games but it's true they have been re released in numerous ways in games, be it as main characters of as supporting ones in fighting, driving or racing games for example.

Yea I think its a good idea! I really hope Sony / Enix get the FF 7 remake out on ps3 soon!
