yah i stopped playing for a monththen when i started again, the games couldnt be readso yah i overcame the red ring of deathbut i still had a malfunction

well probably the scanner is probably dusty since you didn't play it for so long. try opening it up and clean it a little the 360 is jsut like an computer they both can have dust inside and always need cleaning up after 2-3 months

no not mine the red rings would come on but for stupid reasons like the cooler is loose or overheating( with cooler idk how that happens but w/e)

I've had no problems with my 360. I play it constantly and nothing has really happened. Broken yet? that makes it sound like it should've broken by now or something. Why would it break?

I got the ring few months back. I had it up well vented area, nothing around it, still broke. I think playing FFXI on it for 6+ hours a day three times a week did it in eventually. The first day I got it while back it scratched the hell out of my Perfect Dark disk, before the fixed the disc tray flaw.

I've had mine since April 2006 and it still works fine. The only problem is it devours any game I play by scratching it every time I turn the console off or open the tray. Thanks Microsoft.

mine is still good. i bought mine on the second year it's been out so that means 06? but it has happened to two of my friends while I was over. I'm bad luck or something. they bought there consoles near launch however...

I've had mine since.. hm.. november 2006 and im glad to say that.. on Jan 8th 2008 at approx. 6:50 pm, i got the three rings of death..i also got the 4 rings and 2 rings but only on the same day as the 3 rings..2 rings: overheat3 rings: hardware problem4 rings: AV cable problemmy xbox had a good run.
