Dude, its all about the subtitles man. Besides, the original voice acting and dynamics is usually way better than English voice-overs.

I prefer to be subbed, since the way they speak is somehow...enchanted me.

I also think subtitles are the best, no matter what language we are talking about. It just sounds better in the original language, except in some very rare occasions.

I think dubbing the characters sometimes just loses the feeling to it. Cause dubbers who do do it are at times horrible. Most of the time, i'm alright with it though since I just get used to the voices. Subs are fine too. As long as I can understand what they're saying, Im fine with it.

I like subs. For voice overs it would be better because I usually find dubbing annoying.

when they are translated, i dont like it how the words dont match their lips, so i go with the subtitles..... unless you dont know how to read :)

I prefer translated to english as i normally listen than read the subtitles and like Me 8P said, i find it quite weird reading english but hearing something that does not match the subtitles.

I would prefer subtitles because you can understand the voices but also have the flow of the original content

I don't really mind it if it's translated. But the voice acting better be equally as good. If not, then just subtitle it!

I'd prefer subtitles, since the Japanese voice-acting is usually tons better. It just flows better and everything. Unless the dub is superior, which would be a very rare case, I think.

I would rather have it subbed. Most dubbed things are not really well done, and if they are *good* they usually don't the same emotion that the original voice actor/tress had when they expressed it first.......Plus subbing will help you read faster (fast conversations) / learn a new language ..possibly (:

I am not sure if this is against the rules, but.... why not have the choice on each cart. This way both customer types are satisfied. However if forced to choose, I would choose subtitles. The game was built with Japanese in mind. I think it is better to respect that and place subtitles. This is a personal choice and I am not sure one is any better than the other.

seriously, I would rather have it subbed than hear it dubbed in english >_>;Main reason, I watch anime most of the time, reading subtitles and also I'm picking up on the language that they speak. I got the hang of it and if I end up playing a game that's an RPG filled with anime looking characters, I'd normally think they have Jap voice actors rather than English ones. But when I hear it in English, it ruins my setting where I actually believe it's Jap... it's saddening. But! If the games have a Voice selection, I'd be quite happy!EDIT: An example would be Luminous Arc 2. The characters are anime style but the voices are english and horrible >_>; One character's voice (the British sounding one) is horrible... makes me want to smack him with my spoon! And along with other voice actors. The Jap voice actors in that game included Kira and Lacus from Gundam SEED and omg, Shana from Shakugan no Shana. I so wanted to hear that...

It really depends. In games I would prefer it translated because of the action going on, same for movies. With stuff that doesn't have a lot of action then I'm fine with subs.

English dubbing can be really hit-miss. If localization companies actually decide to put the time and effort into finding fitting voice actors, then sure. Give me a dub (Disgaea... for the most part?). If they're just going to pull random people off the street and be like "HEY YOU. QUICK MONEY. Say these lines, we'll record you. Ok bye." then uh. No. Please don't dub it. I'd much rather have a voice-less version than something like that (HELLO LUMINOUS ARC?!? I want to shoot myself whenever I hear most of the voices in that game).

I would rather have it dubbed in english rather than subtitled if they're actually going to spend the time and money to do it properly, lip sync it, and have decent voice actors for it. If they're not willing to spend the money on doing it right however, then subtitles all the way!
