for me i would prefer subtitles because it keeps the original touches the creators hadfrom long term experience of anime manga and games i know that everything is best viewed and played in the original language it was made with

For a DS game? I think i would prefer a full translation, cause having subtitles on a screen that small would would interrupt game play unless they translated the game and just subtitled cut scenes and anime/movie sequences.

I prefer subtitles, because I think English voice actors sound really cheesy in dubs.

Yeah. I think it should stay as Japanese with subtitles. because that's how they were originally meant to be. as for Japanese games they should sub all of them. And sometimes bad subbing companies such as 4kids get a hold of the anime and you end up with a one piece incident. poor one piece has been screwed over thanks to the magical fishmen in the anime as well as sanji chewing a lollipop as opposed to smoking a cigarette.

I'm a purist therefore I absolutely abhor the idea of serious translations. If I watch japanese anime, i want to watch it in japanese with english subs. it's only a bit of reading it's not that hard. If i watch an american cartoon I sure as heck do not want to have it translated into Thai, my other language. I feel that it's a butchery of what it means and there is too much lost in translation. (how do you explain a joke that is inherently american to a thai person and vice-versa)

i think it's better to have the original Japanese voice, when it gets dubbed into English the meaning slightly changes and it would be easier for the translators to throw in a couple of subs....

Subtitled, usually dubbed voices ruin the experience for me, and Japanese voice actors just sound better for whatever reason.

I'd prefer subtitles. Dubs makes me want to cut my ears off. Seriously. :/Though Time Hollow completely marks as an exception. I like the english dubs as much as the japanese ones.

I prefer the subbed rather than dubbed because it seems better to listen to the original, it's way coolerto listen to.

I'd play them either way, but I do enjoy games (movies too) in the language they wereoriginally written for. Furthermore, if possible, I like to try and read and listen to thegames in the original language too, if I can understand enough without it being subbedor dubbed.

I honestly prefer voices to be subtitled in games than dubbed into english because honestly, in most cases the english VAs are poorly picked for the role. But honestly as long as the game is playable I don't care either way as long as it's good =)

Subtitles would be easier to bear instead of english voice acting. Some anime does well with English dubbing but most just make your ears burn a little bit. XDI think if there was subtitles options in games with good cutscenes such as FF12 or Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn.It would be a better choice to have subtitles as options for players who don't care much for voice acting, or reallydon't like the english dub.

Yeah, translation really ruins the tone quality of a voice...Perfect example of this: Serene from Riviera.

I prefer subtitles. There's something about their original voices that make the games feel more real to me. >.> Or maybe I'm just some obsessed fanatic. XD I just hate it when they take a cute characters original voice and twist it and make it sound completely different. :)
