Had a mouse when I was growing up, they don't live all that long .

A dog. She was awesome, but sadly she died when I was young =/

I can easily relate, we had a Siberian Husky(with blue eyes!) and sadly she passed away when i was younger also =(

My first pet was fishes. Tons and tons of gold fishes. But they all died.My first furry pet was a guinea pig. I named her Lilian. I was a bad owner. That's why I don't have any pets anymore. It's for their safety.

No cats or dogs; had a bird when I was a kid, which somehow managed to escape out of its cage...Bought 2 goldfishes some years later, which got overfed (i.e. killed) by my uncle while my famil went overseas 2 weeks or something.Then got 2 Brazilian Turtles (can't remember their species), where one died after about 1 year or so; so we got another to keep the other one accompanied. Some years later, my family had to move to a smaller residence, so we had to give it away.

I haven't had a pet before, but if I were to get one, I would want a cat just cause theyre so playful.

Well~ I've never had pet cats but I have had to deal with one owned by a housemate in the past... I won't spoil you with my bad experience but I just wanna say that there are "things" to keep in mind other than they "playfulness" on their outside ^^;;

Mine was a rabbit. I never knew it was a 'he' until he grew up. Made a real mess out of everything.I still can remember the poor dear having a real hormonal surge; my parents dragged it to the vet to have it castrated, and it never was quite the same ever again. I sometimes wonder if he blames us up there in his little bunny heaven (or outside in our yard where we buried him after he died) for the loss of his male pride.

My first pet was a black gerbil named Frisky. I got that little guy when I lived in a place where we weren't allowed to have pets. They didn't catch us either, but that is because we were clever. I was like 8 or 9 when I got him, and when he died I was very sad. He tried to chew his own legs off...since something happened that made him a paraplegic. He was pretty old for a gerbil, and I like to think he lived a pretty good life. I cleaned his cage about once a week and gave him water and all sorts of other things. He liked chewing on my shirts when I was holding him.

We took it to a vet eventually because things didn't turn out well for it and we got up'd by vet for virtually since the beginning of the operation (to fix up all the issues my dad stirred up) until we stepped out of the clinic...
