It would have to be a PC for me. I could mix and match different parts to suite my tastes and the hardware is generally more powerful than most laptops out there. Being portable doesn't factor into my decision much because when I go out I do something else other than gaming. I reward myself with a better gaming experience when I get back from whatever it is I had to do outside. On a side note, my hands are too big for most laptops keyboards and the built in mouse/pad thingy is irritating.

I love my desktop. Most laptops just can't run the programs I use. I am considering buying an MSI Wind though. It's a very, very small net book that I can carry around.

I'm a desktop person. I simply feel more comfortable doing stuff with it.However, right now I'm writing this on my laptop while waiting in line at the university :(It depends on your priorities. For stuff heavy on resources, I find the desktop to be ideal. It all depends, but my guess is that when doing most of those stuff, you really aren't in the move and therefore not in the need of a laptop. Of course, if the laptop is the only computer you have, no way around it. Also, the desktop is more comfortable. On the other hand, even though I prefer a desktop, I had found myself many times in the need of a computer, particularly lately since I'm taking a programming class. For someone who isn't in the house that often and works while moving from place to place (like a student) a laptop is definitely the way to go. Although if you want the laptop to do any heavy stuff like gaming, you also need the money to back it up.

I defiantly went through this debate about 3 weeks ago... when my wonderful trusty, fault form the start HP pavillion decided to stop working for me right in the middle of midterms, lab reports and essays!this thus resulting in me having a very bad mental breakdown in the future shop parking lot.... i'm sure alot of people were thinking why is that poor girl crying in her jeep? *sigh*i hate making finacial decisions that are pretty big and not really knowing what to actually go with didn't help( ad all my computer nerdy friends were no help at all)....i ended up deciding to get a laptop, just mainly so can go back n forth from home and my dorm and have the mobility. I'm not a serious Gamer(for pc[mac? :(]) so i didn't need anything too fancy just something i could you microsoft office on.So a lap tops are cool for thatDesktops though you can get a friend to help build one for you and that customizable experience would be awesome and provide you with the bets computer for the least amount of cash( unless you have some expensive tastes)

Desktop's are what I started with and they are what I will be sticking with and they run PC Games a whole lot better. I have a laptop, but it's too slow and it would cost too much to get a gaming laptop. So desktops are my weapon of choice, so to say.

I'd be nice to have a laptop, but I still love my desktop. I don't think the laptop can handle some of the other games I play.

I'm a hardcore PC gamer so I definitely prefer desktops. Also I like desktops because they are easily upgradeable. But for travel and school then of course laptop is the way to go. I have a semi gaming laptop that I am loving right now. I can play the games I love (SC2) even on campus hahaha.

I've got one of each. The desktop is more powerful, certainly, but I've had the laptop longer, so it's customized just the way I like it.
