I believe a desktop is always the better choice. Comparing desktops to laptops, you get twice the computer in a desktop for half the price of a laptop. Plus, if you ever need to upgrade, forget about being able to do so affordably with a laptop. Almost all laptop components are specialized and/or proprietary, or just cost more as custom parts. Generally speaking, you do not get enough benefit by making the computer and its components small and portable as you lose in performance.

I use a laptop, it is way better than my old desktop anyways. I love being able to take it anywhere I go.

I guess it all depends on wut kind of both you get, i used to use my bro's laptop for gameing like oblivion and doom, but now hes gone and i got my own, and unfortunately i cant play either coz of performance issues and i dont know how to upgrade. But yea i love my laptop for simple purposes such as watchin vids on youtube, naruto, and manga, plus i guess i can still play like roms, but i miss oblivion.

I have a laptop and I like it cuz it has an internal wireless card so I can steal other peoples signals. I kinda want a desktop though because I want a super fast rig to play games on thats not exspensive as hell.

I like my laptop. I bought it in January, and shock of all shock, it's not out of date already! I got it a few weeks before Vista's release, so my laptop can run Vista, but I don't have enough hard disk space... :( I sometimes wish I had a desktop so i can have a good pc for my sims 2 game...it takes up at least 10 gigs with all the expansions up to H&M stuff installed. Oh well. At least my laptop can go to class with me, and I can use my internal wireless card to get onto the college's wireless network. :P

Desktop. I'm used to the keyboard on a desktop, and even though laptop has some benefits such as being portable, desktop have other advantages too....
