I'd say the N64 has the best controller.

I used to love the NES controller, but my hands got too big to use it properly :(. I'd probably say the 64, just for it's heft.

I liked the SNES controller better because it was pretty basic and didnt have a joystick that could become utterly screwed up and worthless with wear-down like the N64.

Well before I answer this , i didn't go past Playstation2 , never tried the Xbox , & because the Nintendo64 system would give me a numb thumb I'd have to say & agree with some others that its the SNES. Its so easy to go to 1 game to another the complexity wasn't that bad & it looked pretty cool for a controller.

Obviously the best controller was the snes bazooka :( . It was so easy to use and so many games on the system could use it.

I like the feel of the PS3 & PS2 controllers because they feel durable and what not. The Xbox controllers always felt bulky and kinda hallow. The wii I have no opinion because I've never owned one.

the Atari 2600 joystick, not as simple as the NES paddle, but fun nevertheless

I like the Super nintendo. My cousin had like this board with giant buttons and a joystick which played up all the time. (just thought i'd add that in)

I'm thinking of all the possible games you can play on the system. The SNES controller was simple, and it was okay but for fighting games like Street Fighter, it was weird to have to use the shoulder buttons. N64 had maybe the best joystick, but the buttons were weirdly placed for fighting games. Ditto the GCube. PS always had a comfortable controller, but those joysticks were too loose for any gun game or for much else except running around in FF games, and even then you had to use the d-pad sometimes. I go for the 64 because of that trigger button (it was so useful, and conveniently placed)

I think the n64 has the best controller, because the only negative is that the thumbstick goes loose.

Once you get used to it th N64 controller was cool and innovative. I fond it quite comfortable, except for the joystick, them put grooves on it, it made my thumb sore after a while. But it definitely made first person shooter games a better experience because the z button was beneath the controller. It was closer to shooting a real gun.

The dreamcast controller is imo the best controller. It looks cool, suprisingly light for its size, comfortable as heck and really really easy to failiarize yourself with. The only downside is that the D-Pad was a bit sharp
