I think Atari is the oldest home console or maybe pong.

The oldest system I know of is the first game thing that Atari made. It was some flight simulater thing that they built to train airforce pilots but it turned into some addicting game. This was even before pong. Not sure if it really counts as a system though...

Technically pong is the oldest home game console, although it would only play pong and the pre-programed varients it came with.As for consoles that could play external games, I am certain Atari had the oldest. But Pong out dates Atari by a few years.

The magnavox odyssey is the oldest system, it even predates pong. It was released in 1972. A working prototype was made in 1968.

Wow, It's hard to believe that there is a system out there that is almost as old as me!I had never heard of the magnavox odyssey before, but it's pretty neat to hear about a game as old as me.

I think it was atari, it could have been something else though. I wasn't old enough to see the rise of Video Games.

The magnavox... I never had one but I've seen, it was released in 1972 but its proto-type the Brown Box was made in 1968 so I think it's the oldest home console. The oldest I had was Atari.

The oldest one I can think of is that arcade game where you have a ball being hit from one side of the screen to the other. I know they have reinvented a few times on later platforms too. Anyway I still like to play it. Keeps you engaged at least.
