It's not even close to dying, it'll be alive for along time. It still has plenty of good games.

Well, since you can't play PS games on the PS3, PS2 will stay forever. And PS3 is too over-rated, I've seen the graphics and played a bit. I killed a guy by accident o-o;

Well the Playstation 2 is on the verge of being extinct. There are few more good games comming out but soon the Playstation 3 will take over due to new graphics and games.

The Ps2 was one of the most interesting things ever created, at the time it was realeased, it was virtually PERFECT.The fact that it still can run games that run on Xbox 360 or ps3 such as Alone in the Dark (Great game, check it out if you like horror) Is amazing, the game still has great graphics even though it's played on a ps2.

I think if you can afford a ps3 then you can throw your ps2 out the window because ps2 games are compatible. I know that most people can't afford it or don't want to afford it but you can find some cheap deals for Ps3 if you really look so I say yes Ps2 is in the process of extinction

No way Ps2 will never die, It can play all the psone games and you have to get a 60gb ps3 to do that. And they are hard to find :D And also Ps2 has some epic games :D

With Persona 4, and DragonBall Z: Infinite World comming in a few months exclusively to PlayStation 2, something tells me there is a lot of truth in Sony's 10 year product life cycle.

With the price of the PS3 so high, alot of the penny pinching PS2ers won't want to give up their systems so easily.

Am afraid that PS2 has very little time left on stage.Manly because it doesn't support DMM,euphoria,and the havok physics engines.I say about 1-2 years.No more.But ps3 has no freaking games.

The PS3 is very expensive. The PS2 is still alive and will stay alive for at least 2 years

I'm not so sure but I don't even think they're making anymore PS2 games. Although that doesn't mean people don't like playing it. It just sorta means they'll be playing with the same things for a while.

I still do! A lot of my favorite games are for that console. A bit sad that the Playstation 3 turned out to be so expensive.

There's still plenty of fun ps2 games left for me to play. I have almost half a dozen that still have shrink wrap on them lol.

I do, but not quite so much lately. I've been trying to expand my 360 collection, so most of my gaming times goes to beating the newer titles as opposed to replaying older ones.

I use my PS2 just as frequently as, if not more than, my Wii. The PS2 has some of the best titles in gaming, and I'm not about to blow $400-600 on a PS3 when the best model doesn't have backwards compatibility. I see no reason to sell or stop playing my last-gen consoles.
