I really liked Final Fantasy 7 because of a few things...not just one in particular. The first was the story: it was longer. Longer than I ever expected it to be, and it ended on the same epic note it began with. The materia system is, in my opinion, the best magic system that Square-Enix has ever implemented into a game and I'm sad that they haven't used it again. I really liked that there were hidden and powerful things not directly apart of the main quest: defeating Ruby Weapon, for example. The characters all had a lot of personality, and the world was HUGE. In terms of geography, I always preferred 8- but 7's was impressive nonetheless.

Easily the best FF storyline ever, no FF has been nearly as good since. 8 was good but couldnt compare, 9 was too cheesy, 10 focused more on grtaphics than story, 10-2 was just awful, 11 sucked cus it was online only, and 12 has a horrendous battle system.

Final Fantasy VII in short; the storyline rocked, the characters were simple but had plenty of personality, the battle system was easy to play, the sounds were topnotch for the PS1, the In-Game Video Sequences were beautifully rendered, and the Materia System was by far the most innovative of the entire Final Fantasy series. Besides, it had to have been good for Square-Enix to create sequels and prequels to it.

Characters are so deeply drawn and the story is better written than most movies or books.

I have to admit one of the main reasons I love this game was it was one of my first jumps into a RPG. This and Mario RPG Lot7s were my first big RPGs that I actually invested time to. When investing that time I got to know the characters and plot VERY well, the intricate weavings of the plot (especially those hidden scenes like the Letter from Tifa's master and the Shinra Tapes of Ghast and his wife.) Besides the wonderful story theres also a pretty good amount of things to do and collect and level up and eventually master. Materia, Chocobos, Weapons, Limit breaks They all have different quirks and facinating elements to them that keep me coming back to the game to see what I can do. Then theres the Secrets within the game... Hidden characters, plot scenes, Bosses, dungeons. It's so great having a quality game with more than just a strait plot line, Sidequests FTW. I know that none of these things are really that exclusive to this game, but it just accomplished them so well and at the time the CGI scenes were TOP notch which got people playing and involved in the game and the FF series all together. Thats just my 2 cents anyway :foldarms: OH and how could I forget the music. Aeris theme still gives me goosebumps!

It was the most technically and graphically advanced video game ever made at the time. That coupled with solid gameplay, combat, storyline, countless side quests and mini games (who could forget the arcade mirite?) made it unlike any other gaming experience you had to date. The final boss remains to be the most challenging boss fight that I and many of us have ever had to endure, and the combat in general was absolutely thrilling. I could go on all day about this game but it may never change your opinion of the game, everyone is entitled to that. My question to you is, if you don't like this game as your topic implies, why come here and make this topic? Why not just have your opinion and be done with it? Are you considering going back and playing this game if enough people give you enough reasons?

They are NOT making a remake for the PS3. SE officially stated in an interview at Final Fantasy Fan Festival that they want to make it a 20 year cycle. The original game came out 10-11 years ago. That means we won't see a remake for another 9-10 years. With the average life span of a console you won't see FFVII on the PS3, it MIGHT be on the PS4. I would be very surprised if when they do make it they keep it Sony exclusive. Sony pissed off SE when the PS3 came out just like they did the majority of their exclusive game producers. That is why FFXIII is coming out for the xbox360 and the ps3.

This is a Question I always asked myself, but the truth is its for a variety of reasonsThe first and most important is the storyline, it was intense, complex and made everybody just want to keep playing, and find out whats happening next, The next is the characters each one had their own story, and each one had links in different ways to all the other characters, whether they knew it or not. and there was the extra, extint characters that got mention in the game and they were just as important as the playable characters and the rest.Another fine point is the extra directions the game could take, and this is unique because the directionsit took depended on the playable characters you found in the game, Vincent and Yuffie were dscoverable, and they had a separate story you could choose to play or ignore and carry on the with the main story. Finally the reason this game is so popular is because it has so many extra spin off games, FFVIIFFVII-before crisis (phone)FFVII-crisis core (PSP)FFVII-Advent Children (Film)FFVII-Dirge of Cerberus (PS2)On the way to a smile- Case of Denzel (official Story)On the way to a smile- Case of Tifa (official Story)On the way to a smile- Barret (official Story) The Maiden who travels the planet (official Story sequeling Aeriths death)Lot's of fuss over one game, maybe I'm wrong about the reasons, but i KNow for sure its the most famous Final Fantasy created hands down

FF7 was a birlliant game! i loved the world map for starters, probably because it always took me so long to finally get to it! i loved the fmv's and thought that Cloud was like THE coolest guy ever!! Sephiroth just rocks as the games antagonist and i never found myself getting too bored of battles and constant levelling. I've played FF7 through soo many times i've lost count and still find it all amazing when i play it through again! i love arriving in Cosmo Canyon for the first time, then watching the buggy break down and when it's finally fixed, i loooovveeee the shocked expressions on Cloud and Tifa's faces when they arrive in Nibelheim! i think that the music and graphics in this game were outstanding, of course the modern games (FFX and FFXII) have better graphics, but i think FF7 is brilliant in that respect for the period of time that it was made. I think that the track "Clouds Theme", which is the theme played on the world map, before meteor appears, is awesome!! and the grim, strict undertone of the shinra theme is really gripping as well! and the freaky music in the Temple of the Ancients is just so weird! haha i think im talking myself into replaying the game again right now! i also thought that the limit break system was really well though out, and the ideas behind that were amazing too! like vincent transforming into different creatures and Tifa's martial arts skills. I also think that the summons were well animated as well, i think thay anyone who has played this game would agree with me when I say that Bahamut's Mega-Flare looks pretty darn fantastic! In conclusion, this was the Storyline that made me fall in love with FF games, it really brings you into the story, and i found myself actually hoping that the characters would be ok as the story went on! The way that the characters are all inter-twined and how their circumstances bring out the best in all of them, eventually even the cold and distant Vincent shows some concern towards the end of the game! I always thought the love triangle between Tifa, Aeris and Cloud was really interesting, even though I could never understand why Cloud didn't just ditch Aeris and go with Tifa :) Wel it was a great game for many reasons, my all time favourite without a doubt! Still hoping on the PS3 Remake!! :P

Are you serious? what is your damage..no offense. FFVII is a classic, and the graphics are pretty cool. The storyline and plot is off the chain. It's one of the best rpg games out there. And for a Playstation 1 console its actually quite awesome. So, character, plot, graphics and many more that i should but am not going to mention, are why FF VII is so cool.

I don't know, I can't really give you any reasons. I thought Final Fantasy VII was a DECENT game, definitely nothing above DECENT, and certainly not the "best" in terms of storyline and character development. When I finally finished Final Fantasy VII, I was actually almost bored and left with no reason at all to replay it.Final Fantasy IV and VI, on the other hand, were so much fun for me on the first playthroughs that I have played both several times over. There are just more intriguing stories and characters, as well as the more "medieval" feel to them. I think Cloud Strife is one of the worst if not the worst characters ever put into a Final Fantasy game - he is so generic and typical. I will however say that Sephiroth is probably the best villain in the Final Fantasy series, closely followed by Kefka.Edit: Oh yes, one more thing that I really liked in Final Fantasy VII - the music. That's about it.

I think it's because it was the first evolution of Final Fantasy to the 3D world and maybe for RPG's for that matter. They did a good job of making rugged cool characters and story line. Can't wait for the PS3 version!

It has a good story, a little bit confusing at first, but that makes it more exciting by discovering those mysteries in the story. It also has a good graphics compared to other PS1 games.

I have to admit, I do love the gameAlthough, it was my friend who first made me play it, and when you have that whole bit with Cloud cross-dressing, I was thinking "What is this? :|"But plough through that and the game grows on you!It grew on me enough to buy the film, AND that god-awful Vincent FPS spin-off ha!

FFVII was so good, it has it's own compilation. The story, the characters, the weapons, the graphics (pretty good for the PS1) and i can't forget this one, THE MUSIC! I loved everything about this game. It changed how i felt about rpg games! It just revolutionized the series even more. Square (Now Square-Enix) did a great job with this game. Need I say more?
